This whale tour is, without a doubt, the highest quality experience you could have! Over the course of three hours, we spotted at least 10 whales! The staff kept our group small, ensuring everyone had great views from the boat. Skipper Bob was outstanding—he guided us far out into the ocean to follow the whales and shared his extensive knowledge about them. He also made sure the trip was both enjoyable and safe. What sets this tour apart is its unique approach—it felt less like a typical tourist attraction and more like a heartfelt sharing of the staff's love for nature with those of us on the trip. The genuine passion they have for the ocean truly shines through. I highly recommend this tour!

My first trip to Newfoundland was amazing! One of the reason I came, among many others, was a chance to see the Stellar Sea Eagle, which is rare, and has made his home there for the last three years. I took three separate Trinity Eco-Tours and the third time was the charm. Mission accomplished! On each of the tours, Skipper Dean was a font of knowledge regarding the history and geographical formation of "The Rock". It is also amazing when the whales just decide to show up and entertain! I highly recommend these tours. They do not disappoint! After each tour they provide muffins and coffee......and conversation!

Earlier in the week, we went whale watching in Bay Bulls. It was a super fun trip, and we saw plenty of puffins, but no whales. Determined to spot some, we decided to drive three hours to Trinity, and Trinity Eco-Tours did not disappoint! The day was sunny and warm, but by the time we set out at 4 p.m., the waves had grown to about 10 feet! We were flying over the waves—literally! It was more exciting than any amusement park ride, and we had to hold on tight.
About 20 minutes into the trip, we saw our first whale spout. Then, we were surrounded by whales! We spotted at least 9 to 13 different whales, all swimming and peeking out around us. It was absolutely breathtaking. Near the end, just as we were about to head back, we saw a mother and baby whale. The baby even leapt out of the water several times—it was incredible!
Skipper Bob was fantastic, and the entire crew was friendly and knowledgeable. I HIGHLY recommend Trinity Eco-Tours!
Now, for a little extra adventure:
After our amazing day, we started the drive back to St. John’s, thrilled with how worth the trip had been. But just five minutes away from Trinity, I noticed the diamond was missing from my ring! How upsetting after a perfect day:( I was pretty sure I had hit my hand on a metal bar during the boat ride and knocked it out. We knew the chances of finding it were basically zero, but we decided to drive back and search, just in case.
We searched the car and parking lot, but had no luck. The dock to the boat was closed, so we headed out. I emailed Eco-Tours and a couple we’d met who were staying overnight, just to let them know we lost it in case they found it.
The next morning, I woke up to an email from that couple—they actually found it! I still can’t believe it! They were about to give up when she ran her hand along the bottom of the boat near where I’d been sitting and found it! Luckily, they were heading to St. John’s that day, so we met up and we got the diamond back.
What an adventure! Huge thanks to that lovely couple and to Trinity Eco-Tours for the incredible experience and helping it end on such a high note!

The company cancelled my tour because they didn't have enough participants but they kept a cancellation fee. I couldn't choose another day or time of the tour because of my itinerary. This is downright dishonest.

Did the whale watching. It was awesome.
Saw 10 whales, one jumped about 10 times. Great trip. Nice that there were survival suits and two boats - safety covered well.
Boats are fast - rough at times, but suspension seats really helped. The boat ride was worth the price - glad we did this one.

What an amazing experience! It was such a beautiful day on the water and we give our guide a 10/10 rating! He was so personable, knowledgeable, patient and fun! My friend and I didn’t have a lot of experience kayaking but he made us feel extremely safe and chose a route that was very scenic and calm on the water. I can’t wait to book again next summer!

We had a 10/10 experience with Trinity Eco-Tours on a two-hour afternoon whale watching excursion. The entire process, from booking the tour through to its completion was perfection. Skipper Bob was knowledgeable, inspiring and friendly. The travel equipment (seating on the boat, safety equipment, etc.) was as comfortable as it was conducive to a thrilling experience. We were lucky, and saw multiple whales right away, all interpreted by Skipper Bob. Then Bob brought us on a surprise tour of the coastline that was just as fascinating and exhilarating as the whale watching had been—and totally unexpected. We couldn't be more pleased. Worth every penny!

I have debated making this review as I am not sure if I am able to find the correct words to describe our experience.
It was a dark, rainy, windy day. We decided to check in with the folks at Trinity Eco Tours to ensure that they still planned to go on the tour that we had booked- they ensured us that despite being at “peak wind conditions”, we were still going. We put on our warmest clothing and tried to make the best of our experience. The first hour of our ride was wonderful, Skipper Bob was very knowledgeable and had much to share. It wasn’t until we were venturing out to the puffin island that things became very awful and scary. The winds had increased and being out in the middle of the ocean, things became much more rocky and intense. The waves were very large - at times coming up and over the boat, completely soaking all passengers. The best way to describe this was like “the perfect storm”. We should have NEVER been in the ocean in such conditions - we are tourists after all, wanting to see scenery. I was too sea sick to continue on, therefore, we were offered to get off in Old Bonaventure and wait 40+ mins for the boat to return and have someone pick us up. Of course, we got off. We were lucky enough to have found someone local that offered to drive us back to Trinity so that we didn’t have to wait in the rain and cold, in already soaking wet clothing.
I want to reiterate that I am in no way trying to portray that I am blaming anyone in particular for the weather; however, I am disappointed that those with experience did not stop the tour from happening or continuing on, ensuring everyone’s safety. We were not offered compensation or any form of reimbursement. We had another couple who attended the tour stop us at supper and state that they were continuously thinking if they had their wills up to date as they feared for their safety. I, for one did not feel safe and unfortunately have been turned from booking another tour in the future.

We had an amazing time. To start the Zodiac was very comfortable. We have been on others that did not fell as safe. The whales did not disappoint. We must have had 40 sightings of humpbacks and 10 of fin whales. We also spotted T least 12 eagles. Captain Bob is extremely knowledgeable and skilled at finding the whales. We had an outstanding time and when we return to Trinity we will be back!

My girlfriend and I visited Trinity Eco-Tours a few days ago. We went kayaking with another couple and each couple had tandem kayaks. I was quite impressed with the tour guide's commitment to taking us all out on the water despite the rain (although the weather improved after an hour or so). However, we were unable to see any wildlife except for a scattered sea bird. I felt that the tour guide was more chatty with the other couple, which took away from my experience a little. I was also not comfortable in the kayak, as my feet were not pressing against anything, which caused my back to recline which caused me pain. 3 hours felt too long to be in discomfort.
Going through the tunnels was fun, but overall, it was an average experience and I felt it was a little costly. Kudos to the tour guide, though. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and made the event as fun and enjoyable as possible!
