If you plan to visit Trinity, this tour is a must. Although the town is a lovely collection of buildings, shops, theatre, and restaurants, Kevin Toope’s stories make it come alive. He is a member of a longtime Trinity family and is well positioned to discuss the town’s history. Through him one learns about the persons who lived and died there, the challenges they faced, their aspirations and legacies, and the town’s current state of affairs. He also situates Trinity’s place in Newfoundland’s history. Finally, he notes that Trinity’s archives are uniquely complete, and that they could provide relevant links to families researching their roots. Kevin has done his homework, and his love of giving this tour shows. You will spend two hours with him and cover less than one kilometre on level ground which should make this tour accessible for most.

Very informative two and a half hours of history of Trinity and Newfoundland. Very professionally done with props and pictures. This is more of a historical tour then architectural although Kevin does discuss the different types of salt box houses. Just show up in front of his house at 10 am. A must do if in the area

I don’t know what I was expecting, but Kevin’s walking tour exceeded my expectations a hundredfold. At $15 per person for 2 hours and 30 minutes of history, culture, scenic beauty and a few good laughs, this is the best deal around. Be sure to bring extra cash because you will want to tip this gentleman generously!

This was our first trip to Trinity and we decided to do the walking tour. Kevin was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge and love of Trinity are out of this world. He was not only informative but made the information relevant to today's history. He answered all of our questions. He was very friendly and made us feel like family.

Kevin is just wonderful. A very comphrensive 2 hour talk about Trinity Nfld. in particular, but he covers the whole history of Newfoundland. Great historical photos and audio which brings to life the hard life in Newfoundland. We left really understanding so much about the Province and it's history.
A lovely walk through Trinity.
This tour is a must to understand the Province, its history, its current problems and its promise.

This tour is a must for those who are not familiar with Trinity and its history. Kevin has obviously dedicated a lot of time gathering information as is evident by his commentary throughout the walk.We enjoyed it very much.

The town is clean and well kept. Most of the buildings are open with friendly and informative staff. A great way to spend a few hours and learn of Maritime history.

We love walking tours given by local people, and this did not disappoint. Kevin grew up in Trinity and is a retired teacher, so you get the best tour possible. He brings the town to life and includes his own and his family's experiences. The cod fishing industry, the outports and resettlements, the experience of a child growing up in this area...it was fascinating. Our group was small--maybe 7 people--so you could hear well. The historic area is very walkable and also compact. You meet and end at Kevin's family home and he shows you his cod drying area, and let you taste cod liver oil if you are so inclined! This was one of the many highlights of our first and fabulous trip to NL.

We drove into this beautiful seaside town in the morning and did the walking tour with Kevin to our delight. Kevin gave us a very detailed walk of the town including personal historical stories. We absolutely LOVED the tour and thought it was a great way to start off our trip in Trinity to get a lay of the land. You can tell Kevin enjoys what he does and the town he grew up in and lives. I couldn't recommend this tour more for anyone in the vicinity of Trinity.

As walking tours go, it just doesn't get much better than this. Kevin was interesting, informative, humorous -- all things that make a walking tour of such a historical town a true joy to experience.

Kevin's tour as an absolute *must* for anyone going to Trinity!
