I am assuming that you're interested in outdoor activities in the Advocate Harbour area since this question is on the NovaShores page. Depending on your travel arrangements and late August options, you could stay in Truro and access a variety of activities within a 1-2 hour drive. Truro itself has a lovely park with hiking trails (Victoria Park). Most drives in Nova Scotia are scenic and take longer than on a highway. From Truro, you could raft the tidal bore at Maitland (~30 min. west from Truro), visit and explore Burncoat Head (~1 hour from Truro/30 from Maitland viewing platform area), drive to Joggins Fossil Cliffs (~1 hour on the highway north), drive down to Advocate for a kayak (~45 min. SW from Joggins maybe?), eat at the Lighthouse D'Or, go to any number of beaches, and possibly whale watch in Chignecto. You could easily fill 3 days in this area. Most of the towns besides Truro and Amherst are small, and I have no lodging info. If you're more interested in the western end of the Bay of Fundy area, you probably want to concentrate on lodgings and activities that way--Digby is quite a drive from Truro. If more interested in city life, Halifax and Lunenberg have much to see and would be enjoyable in 3 days. (Cape Split in the previous post is about 1/2 way between Truro and Digby.)
