This is an easily photographable lighthouse on the lake; we got photos with the sun going down, great ones with winds, and lots of angles. Pretty little lighthouse!

We were in Baddeck for a few days before learning that Kidston Island with its great lighthouse is where locals go swimming. Hop on the little ferry at Kidston Landing and head on over. This island is also great for birding. I saw woodpeckers, warblers,...More

Nice area with great photo opportunities, one of which is the Kidston Island Lighthouse. The whole area begs to be explored.

I had fun looking to take pictures of the Kidston Island Lighthouse, in different places, to see this lighthouse from different perspectives. The first time I saw it, was from a window from the Alexander Graham Bell Historic Site. I immediately was attracted to it....More

Take a picnic go for a swim or walk on the shore to collect items from the beach. Lyons club offers a free shuttle back and forth.

We could not visit the island but took some great pictures. Its a tiny but very cute lighthouse. Pier walk on the Baddeck side is very good.

We did not have time to visit the Kidston Island Lighthouse but we took some great photos of it from a distance. We will certainly stop and visit it on our next trip, which will be in the fall of 2017.

Obviously the light house is lovely. However, using a few angles and props from the area create a real masterpiece. For example, the best overall picture angle we found was to go to the Bell Museum on the hill, lie down uphill from the bright...More

Even if you don't make the trip to the lighthouse, you can still enjoy and easily photograph it from the wharf. Evening is a great time to photograph it and the boats in the harbor. The lighting is great and constantly changes providing no end...More

I am sorry but I do not know the hours of operation for the ferry and I could not find anything on the internet, either. But FYI, there is the "Amoeba Sailing Tours" if you are interested in that, where children under 8... More

I am not sure if pets are allowed on the ferry. I tried looking on the internet but cannot find anything regarding the ferry, it's schedule nor its services. But I would think that pets would not be a problem.
