Lovely and very popular trail. It is very short....maybe 45 minutes. But is worth the mild hike to see the lake. You can go upwards to a cliff if you like.

From the car park, you walk along a well groomed trail/dirt road about 1.5 km into the lake. The walking is pretty decent with a gradual incline the last bit of it. This brings you to the lake’s edge. If you want the iconic pictures from above, you need to climb a very short, but very steep section. This is NOT recommended for anyone who has balance issues. There is a rope attached to a tree to help you climb which is very useful if it has rained recently as the path can get very slick. Also, you may need to wait your turn as there is not a lot of room at the top. We went fairly early which was great because no crowds, but the sun was not great for taking pictures because you are shooting into it. The lake will look more turquoise when the sun is straight above or later.

We were in the area, and happened upon by accident. I had always wanted to go there so we stopped. It’s a fairly easy walk in. One part is a bit of an incline, but wide and open. It’s worth it. The water is amazing to see and in September was still quite warm. It’s such a cool place to see. Not really the setting for “a day at the lake” as there is not a lot of shore for multiple people but a very cool experience!!!!

This hike is VERY long. Only go if you're an experienced hiker. Not worth it at all. Very tiring walk through wooded area.

Located on the west side of the trail outside Cheticamp. Free parking. 30 minute walk on a gravel trail. Great place for a swim. To get a view of the lake, you have to navigate a steep hill using a rope. Definitely not for everyone.
