It was a 30 minute brisk walk in and a lovely small lake for swimming, glad it was end of the day and not crowded.

Very easy & brief hike to the lake, the optional climb to look down on the lake is very steep. Ropes are there to help which is nice!

My wife and I recently went on this trail when we were in Nova Scotia this summer. It was neat to climb up the rope to look over the lake and the beautiful view! Don’t forget to bring your swimwear as it is a beautiful clear lake! I swam to the other end and back but be careful of the weeds at the far end of the lake. We also saw some young people jumping off the cliff into the water but did not try that ourselves. This was one of the hidden gems of our summer holidays!

Lots of parking on a Monday. easy walk to the lake. people swim in it. We thought view was beautiful. Went up to top to see view using a rope. If in Cheticamp., worth a visit.

Nice, easy, quick hike. Lots of bugs when we were there - so be sure to bring bug spray. The lake is beautiful, but limited scenery/views other than that.

An easy hike into an old Gypsum mine that has flooded and now forms a small lake with lovely colour and reflections. Once at the lake, make the extra effort to climb the rocks above it for an even better view of the lake.

This is an easy 20 minute hike to the lake along a wide, well signed path. Then you can scramble up higher for a better view of the lake. A rope is there to help, especially on the way down.

This is such a beautiful and quick stop that it should definitely be on your road trip list! Depending on the weather when you're there, I've seen people swimming there!

Highly recommend this hike. Well marked on road, good parking, easy hike with med incline to lake & then steep climb to top for excellent views. Trail to top located on left just before lake. Rope available. Recommend good footwear. Wet areas after rainfall.

Easy walk of about 1,5 km to go (same return). Large path with some rocks. Lake at the end is beautiful but with only 3–4 access to water : if there is many people or children it can get complicated. It was very crowded even this morning on a monday, I don’t imagine a weekend. At the lake, don’t miss the little path going up to have the best view (there is a rope but it is very steep : you need shoes, not flip flop).

How safe is the swimming/ jumping for teens who are comfortable with deep water swimming? Is it obvious upon arrival where the best locations are for jumping? Thanks for any tips!

People jump from the opposite side of the lake. There is a rope ladder which takes you up the cliff. I would not recommend it. Swimming is easy. The trail ends at the lakeshore.

Is the trail to the lake diffucult, I use a walker for balance as my mobility is shaky...I always have someone with me to help with balance.

The trail is a groomed trail; however it can be a little rocky and steep in some places.
How deep is the lake?

Hi there, I’m a local... While these are honestly all hearsay, it has always been said that it’s roughly 75 to 150ft + deep!! The old mining equipment is all still down there... No one has ever been able to prove how deep it is yet but a few people are going to go diving to find that out! :)
