This is a cool gallery with lots of original art, some of it by the owner, at different price points. We enjoyed chatting with the owner, and we ended up buying one of his prints. I'm glad we stopped by.

This is a great place to get unique local art and gifts. Most are done by the artist who works at the shop. The art is amazing and the artist is super friendly!

Along the western side of Cape Breton, on the world-famous Cabot Trail, you come to a gallery named after DaVinci's Mona Lisa. One of the owners specializes in paintings of flying cows - all kinds of them - doing everything you can imagine. The rest of the gallery concentrates on artists throughout the Island and all over the province of Nova Scotia. You can find everything here from original, artist-produced cards, to stained glass, to sculptures, artist-designed t-shirts (the ones of Yetis are the best, I had to have one of those), beautifully designed handmade pillows, lots of paintings, soaps and serious art. They do it all and it's all in great fun. Don't pass up the gallery when you see the Mona Lisa sign on your way up the Cabot Trail.

We first came across this gallery last summer (2017), had a great time browsing the collection of quirky pieces. Bought a couple of cards with cows as a memento. Came home to Montreal and told lots of friends about this fun gallery in Cape Breton. Went back this summer wondering if we had built it up in our minds- nope- still loved the style so bought a painting with a ticking cow in the country. Makes me happy every time I look at it! Just might go back next summer... Susan

This is an excellent Gallery. I have visited four times in the last 5 years and always find something unusual art. The owner is one of the artists featured in the changing collection. We have found art we could not pass up on every visit. The prices are always very reasonable. The Gallery owner does not sell on line. You have to visit the gallery. We think this is the best gallery in Nova Scotia based on several factors. Quality of art, Variety of artists, and reasonable prices.

Cool, sophisticated, refined art works by the proprietor and other local and regional artists. I loved the cow. There are so many good pieces in this gallery, too many to take home. Choices must be made. But it is all fun fun fun.

Gallery La Bella Mona Lisa is a cute little shop with really unique art pieces I've never seen anywhere else. You can also find pottery, jewelry, knit items etc. Definitely worth stopping in! I'm hoping to pop in again this summer to see what's new 😊

Neat place to stop on a day of gallery browsing around the Margaree/Belle Cote/Cheticamp area. Some of the art is really "out there", but that makes the visit all the more fun. Paintings, photographs, jewelry, wood art...you can find it all here!

This shop had a variety of good quality artisanal items. Because of that, it is not cheap. If you are not sure if you should stop or not, I would. I purchased a Scottish spurtle, which is a like a stirring spoon, but the end of the stick is a ball so that you can reach the curvature around the bottom edge of your pot. I haven't tried it yet though to see if it works.
