Apparently the negative reviews are from folks who are looking to buy souveniers and not hand made art. If you are looking for a t-shirt for your grandson, look somewhere else ; this is not for you.

We were a little intrigued as to why all the tour buses stopped here, so we called in at the wnd of the Cabot Trail. While there are lots of souvenirs, we wouldn't say it was the best selection out there. The most interesting thing is the hooked rug making, and that is really only if you get a chance... More

I was very excited to go here after it was recommended by people we had met, especially for hooked rugs. I don't know if it is just because it is near the end of the season, but the hooked rug selection was small and not very interesting and the rest of the merchandise is regular roadside gift shop tshirts etc.... We were excited to stop at this gift shop after reading the brochure and the fact that Chatelaine had rated it as the number one Gift shop. While there were some items available by artisans such as hooked rugs and a woman demonstrating how they were made, most of the items were things I'd typically see at a gift shop... More

Our B&B host recommended that we stop at Flora's as we drove the Cabot Trail. Flora's has a great selection of local crafts, especially hooked rugs and other items. While in the shop, there was a local "hooker" working on her craft. The shop is a great mix of the trinkets and t-shirts that you would expect from a local... More

My wife loves gift shops and she was interested in getting a hooked rug tapestry while in Cheticamp. These items are particular to this area. Flora's had a good selection and their prices were reasonable compared to other shops in the area. They also have all of the normal trinkets you would expect in a gift shop. There is an... More

This was a great stop on our bus tour of Cape Breton. This is a great gift shop, ice cream parlor and coffee counter. Nice selection of local crafts and a chance to see the "hookers" work to make their beautiful rugs and other hooked crafts. A perfect stop in Cheticamp!
