It is only about 2km but it is up the hill so not always that easy. But totally worth it for the view at the top. You go through 3 old growth forest types...that are enjoyable. There are places to rest along the trail if need be.

My Husband and I did this hike as part of our Cape Breton Adventure in August 2021. This is a short hike about 2 1/2 km long and heads up a small hill which provides several overlooks providing great views of the ocean, Cape Smokey and Warren's Lake, The trail is fairly easy and well maintained. Several patches of wild blueberries along the route made for a refreshing treat (our dog loves wild blueberries and picks her own).
Overall a great early morning hike.

This trail ends with a great view but Parks Canada should pay more attention to its maintenance especially as regards the assent that suffers from washouts.

Lovely hike through mature forest. Trail is easy to follow with steps in some of the more challenging areas. There is a lookoff about 2/3 up that is a great spot to stop for a break. The view at the top will take your breath away! There's a bench there so you can have a rest and enjoy the amazing view.

This is not a long hike, but it is quite steep with challenging sections. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water. If you have a hiking stick you will find it useful here. An outhouse is found at Warren Lake Beach, which is down the dirt road past the trailhead. Definitely recommend this trail.

This view of Middle Head and Smokey in one direction, and then if you look to the left down along the coast towards Green Cove, is one the great ones along the Cabot Trail; especially on the south side.

I think I enjoyed this hike almost as much as the skyline trail hike. The views from the top were absolutely worth the very uphill, but short hike. It probably took about 45 minutes to go to the top (all uphill). At the top is a park bench and a red adirondack chair. I definitely stayed up there over an hour, even took a short nap. Really beautiful views.

Trailhead is located right next to the road to Mary Ann Falls, so if you are already going to go out to the falls, you might as well stop here too for a short hike. I would only suggest this on a dry day otherwise it might be slippery.

This short, very steep trail will give you a big bang for your buck in terms of views and scenery at the top. It's only a little more than 1 km straight up, so if you are a decent hiker, be sure to visit! This would be a great trail to do with kids over age seven or so. I'd call this a hidden gem, as long as you can hike steep trails.

Just a 1.4 mile (round trip) hike, but it will quickly raise your heart rate and bring on a nice sweat. But at the top, you'll be rewarded with a beautiful view of Broad Cove (and even the campground -- we could see our camper!) It's a nice warm up to the day before heading on to other local hikes. The trail was pretty well maintained, but does have some rocky spots and areas with some exposed tree roots. Recommend good, supportive footwear, not sandals. Our 6 & 9-year-old both did great on this hike with zero complaining. Score!

We tent camped one night at Broad Cove Campground. Some campsites have privacy and some are in open areas. We appreciated the clean free showers available close to camping site. We also camped two nights in the Cheticamp camp ground. It also had good campsites and well-maintained free showers. Note: Did not know when we reserved sites but sites with fire pits costs more than those without. When we changed sites in Broad Cove to a site without a firepit, we received a refund...very considerate of park personnel who we found to be helpful at both locations.

This trail wasn't that difficult. There were a lot of stairs. Midway we saw a nice overlook, but once at the top, beauty was everywhere.

The view was amazing! There were a few chairs to sit on for those who were tired. How can we be tired with so much beauty? Wow! Enjoyable.

We met other trekkers who made it there and they loved the views as well!

Worthwhile to enjoy!
