Not too long but uniquely beautiful and challenging throughout. Hilly and rocky in parts but a real beautiful and interesting hike. Finish up and rest at one of the Keltic restaurants.

Seems like just a walk in the woods until you reach the end of the penninsula. The view opens to the horizon and to adjacent headlands in both directions. There are a couple of tough patches on the walk, steep and rocky, but in general...More

The Middle Head trail is a common coastal hike. It's definitely worth the effort, but be sure also to seek out the White Point trail which is just up the road outside of Cape Breton National Park. You will encounter far fewer people and experience...More

An excellent trail on the east side of the Cabot Trail, the climb is fun and the view is great. Careful of the rocks at the end, but there are some surprising flat ledges that are safe and yet make for awesome photos

Beautiful vistas from a very easy to do trail. Great for all ages and a nice variety of terrain. Great way to spend a couple of hours.

We hiked a number of trails in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia during our recent vacation. All of these hikes had something about them that made them impressive, but if I had to pick my favorite Middle Head trail would be it. We liked this...More

Pleasant, not too challenging walk along the headland and back. Takes 1.5 to 2.0 hours, most of it in the shade of the trees. We didn’t see much wildlife apart from squirrels but sometimes, apparently, you can see seals and maybe whales in the distance....More

The walk medium in difficulty and it was beautiful scenery. I wish we had brought binoculars because there were a lot of smaller whales offshore. Enjoyable walk and views.

The most magnificent views are at the end of this hike so be sure to make it all the way out to the end. It ends on a point with water all around you and spectacular coastal views. The only hard part of this hike...More
