Different Accommodations
Sep. 2019
This is a unique place to stay overnight in a caboose or freight car converted into accommodations. You can also eat in a dining car. This is a popular destination for railway buffs and people looking for a different soft adventure.

There is lots to do and experience the best of Nova Scotia. The people are very friendly and happy to see you. Takes you back in time when everyone was happy and extremely friendly.

Awesome Experience

My husband and I took our 3 year old grandson to the Train Station. Even when all the rail cars are “occupied “ you are still able to tour the Governor General Rail Car. We also visited the gift shop and chatted with one of the employees. He invited us to see inside car #4. Of course our grandson was delighted! Even if you are not a rail buff, you will still be impressed with this collection of rail cars turned into unique lodgings...
This place is a must see!

For Train and history lovers!

Highly recommend a visit and lunch here! This place has been lovingly created/restored by a train enthusiast. They even have cabooses you can stay in which hopefully I’ll do on my next visit! The lunch was awesome and sitting in the Dining Car enjoying our meal was such fun - and both the food and service were outstanding!

There’s a good bit of history here. Definitely worth a visit!

Stopped in for a quick lunch with friends. Wow!! What a lunch. Food and service was exceptional. Dining in a restored railway car was fantastic. Loved everything about this Railway Station. We will be back to tour again and hope to book a night or two in one of your beautiful rail cars. Such a great experience. Thanks to all who maintain this piece of history. Well done you !

Stepping Back in Time in A Railroad Car
Sep. 2018 • Couples
My wife and I stayed at the Intercolonial Railway Station in a caboose, or all places,
for a couple of nights during a recent trip to Nova Scotia. This a rather unique experience to say the least which we thoroughly enjoyed. The tiny restaurant served excellent breakfasts and we had a wonderful meal in the main dining car. The accommodations in the caboose were very romantic and a good time was had by all!!

Stopped by the Train car for lunch ....great atmosphere. Very friendly and welcoming. Food was very good as was the service. Very reasonably priced.

The gift shop left a lot to be desired.....two people working, no greeting and a very cold atmosphere! More like a dollar store (w/much higher prices).

Highly recommend the restaurant, I’d skip the gift shop!

Great little place to spend an hour or so

A great little place to explore and learn a little about the old railway. All part of the hotel, but the café is excellent, gift shop packed with all kinds of vintage and reproduction items (especially train related items) and old rolling stock (used as the hotel rooms and restaurant) to walk round. Plenty of photo opportunities.

Lovely place for a homemade luncheon. No deep fryers here but every meal we had among 5 of us was great or fantastic.
