This is nothing spectacular. It is what it says, a large fiberglass cow. Look at a picture and you'll get the idea.

We are glad we stopped here -- interesting attraction, phenomenal view. You have to drive up the hill to get to the base of the cow (about 1 -2 miles) -- but what a commanding view of the surrounding country side. You can almost see a full 360* -- you can not help but stare out into the countryside. There... More

Nice drive from Bismarck about 30 minutes, small donation requested for up keep, gravel road to the top and a slight climb on a sidewalk to get up to Sue, great views all around

My friend and I stopped on our way from the Teddy Roosevelt Nat'l park back to Bismarck and it was a fun little stop and we had a good laugh as we took photos. There's a sign at the top explaining why and when it was built. You can get a good view of the town of New Salem below.... More

On a long road trip, I saw the signs advertising "Salem Sue" and just had to pull off the highway and get a closer look. This is a great homage to the Holstein in the heart of the Midwest farming country. Stop and see Sue, standing tall, proud and huge on the hillside. A fun stop on a long stretch... More

This is a great stop to make with kids or adults - new Salem Sue is located right off the interstate and is free and quick! The kids like walking up the hill to see the largest Holstein in the world 😜. Take a few pictures and then you can hit the road again!

Great road-side attraction - easy on/off - amazing views and a nice story. Free - drive to parking lot at Sue's feet and then climb to her, and then up the hill behind, for a panoramic view that is worth it.

It was a highlight on the drive across North Dakota on our way to Yellowstone National Park. It was a fun little stop to get out and move our legs. The kids loved her and talked about her the rest of the day. Fun stop for all ages!

A great oversized roadside attraction, billed as the World’s Largest Holstein. Elevated on a mound (it’s a beaut!) south of the interstate, you can’t miss it. Free, great photo opportunity, and you can see seemingly forever from the cow’s perch. Put a few dollars in the collection plate there for Sue’s upkeep. She is worth it!

Yep, we spotted her! We pulled over, but admit, we didn't pursue getting closer, the cow pats coulda been dangerous! It just gave us a happy smile.
