The Limehouse Conservation Area is truly a hidden gem! The "hole-in-the-wall" area provides a new experience, letting people walk around the maze of stones. The kiln and mill ruins offer a peak into the past nearby a serene river. This is probably the best free hiking place in and around the Halton Hills area! I wish there was a map or better directions along the trails because it can be very confusing. Still, I definitely recommend a visit and will be returning myself!

Great hike and lovely scenery. A lot of mosquitoes around this time so be prepared for that. Like many other trails wasn’t marked clearly but was a nice afternoon hike.

This is a wonderful place to hike. We had great weather and the hike was so much fun with a group of eight. A lot of others on the trail to direct us when we got lost as well. Georgetown is close by to go to for coffee or snack after the hike.

Loved Limehouse conservation! I normally go on hikes but this place was unlike any other- you go through holders and large rock formations, Climb through narrow caves and are rewarded with walking across the bridge over the waterfall. I took my dog and had no problems but I didn’t feel comfortable letting her off leash as there are a lot of holes to fall into.

We enjoyed the hike inside Lime conservation area. There is no entrance fees but for the hike one needs to have endurance and strength both. I liked the historical lime stone kilns and ruins which have been nicely preserved. There are different kinds of trails to explore.

Limehouse is a near perfect conservation area that offers a number of short trails, POI, photo ops and a park. Parking is free and the trailhead is clear and welcoming. The trails are short enough for a hike with young children or a quick visit if you're short on time.
However, there are some major issues that need to be mentioned. First, the trails are not well marked. The colour codes are not consistent, for example; The Bruce trail is Red on the map, but the blazes are White. The Yellow trail is the Blue trail. It's horribly marked and needs a simple upgrade.
Secondly, there is so much dog crap on the trail it's revolting. Literally, smack dab in the middle of the trail people let their dogs crap. I don't know why people do this. You will usually find poop bags left trail side or even flung into the tree tops. I hope these people never return.
Lastly, there is so much litter everywhere you look. It's too bad, because it would be a perfect park if not for the irresponsible dog owners or the losers leaving their garbage.
If you go, please pick up a piece of garbage on your way out. Keep the green space clean and leave your dog at home.

We visited the area for a family wedding and decided to take a walk on New Year's Day on the day after the ceremony. It is a pleasant walk through trees with streams flowing through the area. It represents quite an easy walk although parts were a bit icy. Well worth seeking out
