I've read about the Trees sculpture in Orangeville and decided to give it a try. We obtained map of the sculptures location from the library. It could be also downloaded online. Most of the sculptures are located along the main street in downtown. Beautiful wood carving work that features different themes: animals, occupations and so on. Would recomed it.

Very beautiful art pieces. It is nice to see that a tree can have another life other cutting them down.

I did this tour with a bus group and it was very interesting especially when we entered the cemetery and found 3 more sculptures there - these ones were some of the nicest on the entire tour (I assume because they are not as accessible). There is a very interesting story that goes along with each tree and it gives you a better sense of the history of Orangeville. I would recommend doing this tour which you can do on your own by car. There is a map with information about all the sculptures.

Our relatives visiting from Frankfurt thought it was a great idea to have so many different tree sculptures. They made a whole day event of searching them out, having lunch, etc. It was one of their favorite days in Orangeville.

Orangeville being so close to Toronto, has much to offer in the way of art, culture, and in this case, something out of the ordinary. Not sure of the number of tree staues but must be getting close to 100 scatterd around the community.

These are sculptures that started when artists began carving trees that had be cut down and has now got to the point where people commission sculptures and then embed the work in front of their place of business or house. There are over 50 tree sculptures in the town, most clustered in the downtown core around Broadway although quite a few are up First Ave. Pick up a brochure with a map and description of the pieces at the visitor center just as you come into town on Highway 10 - well worth having. Some of the paint has faded on the sculptures so they do not appear as vibrant as they do in some photographs - still worth seeing.

We were with a tour group. Since we have some on tour with mobility issues, a tour guide from Orangeville boarded our bus and did the tour that way instead of walking. We did stop a certain spots and got off the bus for a closer look. The sculptures were beautifully done. They add much meaning to the community. It was a very informative tour.

My wife and I live in Orangeville and are very proud that the community used these old trees as a way to beautify the streets. These trees were old and dying but City council decide rather to remove them, they could become works of art. Scultors are asked to make them into creative pieces to beautify Orangeville. There are many in the west end on about 6 city blocks. Very well done and worth seeing.

We wanted to do the art walk of tree sculptures but since we visited the place on a Saturday, there was hardly any parking available, so we decided to drive and get a view of the sculptures. Since the dirve is in the town, traffic is pretty pretty slow so you can get a good view of each and every sculpture even while driving.
They have around 55 tree sculptures featuring the work of 19 different artists plus the headwaters carving club. The first tree was carved in 2003. The sculptures are about art, heart and community. Apparently this is being done to sustain the life of trees that have reached the end of their life expectancy in a way that allows them to conitnue adding character to their community.
It is amazing to see the art done on a tree and all of them are more than magnificent really!!!

Google wood art in Orangeville and you will get a website. I'm apparently not allowed to include a website link here.
