Excellent Muskoka course
Aug. 2019 • Family
Played a very enjoyable game on a quite scenic track. Not too long, just over 6200 yards, but with lots of opportunities to hit driver. Quite enjoyed playing there, very reasonable rates, and a Wednesday special for golf, cart, beer and hotdog.

Well worth the drive! Beautifully conditioned track....

Everything was perfect from the warm welcome, the pro shop staff, the dining room staff and the beautifully manicured golf course. We got around 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours without any issues at all. I'll definitely make plans to return to Windermere!

We attended for a charity event. Staff were lovely and accommodating for the group. Dinner was on time and well prepared. Great venue. Husband golfed 18. Enjoyed the course.

Average course that needs signage.

We've been staying in Bala and golfing at various golf courses in the area. It has rained some this week which would help explain the really soggy fairways and muddy rough areas. I chose to walk with a push cart and my husband drove a power cart. He had to abandon the cart for the 13th & 14th holes due to extremely wet conditions. I'm assuming drainage must be a problem on this course as it hadn't rained in two days.

I originally was going to use the ladies red tees but they appear to be an afterthought, just placed on the fairways without a designated tee box or any elevation. Althought reds were shown on the score card the little sign at each hole didn't show them with any distance marked. Since the yellow tees were proper tees with some elevation I chose to play them with reasonable success. It was sometimes really hard to find the yellow tees and a couple of times we had to circle around ( a bit harder when you're walking) to figure out where they were located.

This leads me to the almost total lack of course signage to help you navigate the course. We missed a few holes and had to run around trying to figure out where they were and we met several golfers also lost on the course, many holes away from where they wanted to be. There does not appear to be an overview map of the course or any hole layout map at individual holes. It felt like we were golfing blind, figuring out the course layout and hole configuration.

The pace was good. We got there a bit early and were told we could head right out. There was no one in front of us until the 3rd hole when a single golfer drove up and hit off as we were leaving the 2nd green. We had to wait a little on the 3rd but then he moved ahead and we again had the hole in front of us empty. We were able to play quickly, finishing in 4 hours 15 minutes, and that's with me walking the course.

There are a couple of holes that were quite pretty but mostly they are flat and not that interesting. The last hole ends at the clubhouse which is attractive. We stopped for lunch and it was good and the service was also quite good.

With so many beautiful courses in Muskoka Lake area that boasts stunning Canadian shield rock formations this is not one that we would golf again. At best it was average.

A classic

A classic Stanley Thompson designed course. Brought up to date lately. A real treat to play. Lovely tree lined fairways and generally in good condition. Okay mid week to avoid the crowds.

Resort Style Golf Course

We played golf here for the first time today and the experience was average. The course is in good condition but the greens are slow. The layout is not terribly interesting - a lot of up and down holes. Played in 4hrs 10mins although the front nine was slower than the back. We drove a long way to play the course and will lock for closer options next time.

We will be back
Jun. 2016 • Couples
This is one of Ontario's most beautiful courses. The history of the course dates back to 1919. Staff were wonderful and we played 27 holes the first day. We had lunch at the club and had a Quinoa Salad and a Caesar Salad that were both excellent. We will be back this fall for a weekend stay. We found our new favorite place for a get away. We stayed at the Windermere House and then crossed the parking lot to the golf course.

Classic Old Course

Was impressed with the layout and the condition. Good definition of fairways, and the greens rolled true, and fairly fast for the first week of June. I pleasure to play, and enjoy the scenery as you go.

Wow...

An immaculate golf course.
Every tee box is a gardener's delight, nestled in the 'rocks' of Muskoka this course is groomed to perfection.
The holes are challenging yet not too difficult, a course you play for the quiet serenity of the outdoors versus the challenge of scoring low...
Professional and helpful pro-shop staff.... just a wonderful day on the golf course..

Stunning

We were in a 4 bedroom cottage and it was absolutely stunning. It was equipped with everything including a chef's kitchen, a screened in porch overlooking the lake, etc. We were so impressed.
