Experienced the Festive Market and stayed overnight (Yome sleepover). It boasts a serene adventure, filled with animal rendezvous. All human farm folk are truly warm and welcoming and accommodating despite the market interest influx/ furry moods. Would definitely recommend to those looking to experience a nature getaway and not to shy away from farm environments.

It was a please petting the goats, watching my kids interact with the goats. The staff was warm, the food in the Cafe was delicious. It was so nice to see lots of local products.

We always enjoy checking out the goats and lamas etc. If you get here at 1:00 pm you might be lucky enough to see the goat run which we we experienced last time. What a thrill for the kids ( the human ones). The restaurant food is reasonable but the venue is nice for relaxing and hanging out. Great gift shop with lots of fun stocking stuffers.

The walk was fun. Bit fast for toddlers and strollers are not recommended. My husband pucked him up most of the way but we all were able to pet the big goats and had time to cuddle with the baby goats as well. It was a really fun experience for all.

We stayed here for 2 nights in a yome for our 10th wedding anniversary and everything exceeded our expectations. The daily breakfast is scrumptious. Debbie, Hitharth and the rest of the staff were so warm and friendly. We did the blind chef tasting dinner, which was exceptional. Chef Lesley pulled out all the stops and every course was delightful, full of local goodness and we happened to have the entire place to ourselves which made it even more magical. We both work in high-end hospitality in Toronto and were impressed with the food and service. The shmurgle was so much fun, the goats are just adorable and super friendly. We can't wait to go back with friends!

Whether you're "stay-cationing" or traveling in from afar, anyone who wants a taste of "farm life" with maximum chill, this is the place. Prior to "The Haute Goat Schmurgle" (which we had done before and had such a great experience with), we wanted to enhance our interaction with the farm, so we stayed overnight in the Alpaca enclosure and, if you can envision what four full walls (and a roof) in an alpaca enclosure will entail (read: small but cozy!), you'll be fine. It WILL be an unusual experience for city folks who have never camped! But walls you will have. And a fan and a heater (for all types of weather) and an awesome breakfast prepared just for you. We also had a "guard alpaca" who kept an eye on us when night fell by loafing right outside our lodgings. Such a sweet guy and free of charge. :-)

If you want to use the bathroom (toilet) or access running water it will be the minor-est of treks . . . unless walking outside in the pitch-est of darkness unnerves you. Then hold it. Or realize super-quick that the scariest thing in the natural darkness is your imagination! We only stayed over one night so we planned to not use the shower available in the cafe - hours of overnight access limited - but longer term stays can certainly plan for this shower OR book the "Farmhouse Suite" for two nights which includes an en suite bathroom and shower.

Long story short: this is a great FARM experience that offers a short drive to Port Hope (quaint!) and hands-on access to alpacas, goats, and guard dogs :-) and plenty of other outdoor activities (disc golf, anyone?). Lots to purchase to remember your trip, gifts for those who couldn't make it (but should!), and experiences to remember forever. "The Schmurgle" cannot possibly be MORE hands on than schmurgling. And they'll explain! :-)

Thank you Debbie (and Shain), Chef Leslie, Tori (Farm Manager), and Chewbacca - or was it Obi Wan Alpaca -hard to tell in the dark? (Guard Alpaca ), for taking such great care of us and ensuring we WILL be back! Quite possibly for the "Ghoully Goat Spooktacular," because I wanna know how they make schmurgling these adorable goats "spooky"!

Staff super friendly and helpful. Very peaceful property. Owner was very accommodating and has good supporting staff. Food very fresh and good in the Cafe. Many nice gifts for family and friends to come home with. Only issue is that lighting outside of Yurts and ability to lock the doors should be available.

Overall a fun experience. A unique experience you wouldn’t get at the zoo. Some issues we had were as follows:
We wore sandals and it should really specify on their website that running shoes or boots are recommended. The walk was very hilly with long wet grass and weeds that made it uncomfortable in sandals, which a lot of walkers had on.
We would not recommend the schmurgle for young children (on their website it specifies a price for ages 2-5). The walk was really too long and too fast-paced for our 2.5 year old (and perhaps a bit long in general). As a result, we fell behind at the back of the group and the goats weren’t near us almost the whole time because of we couldn’t keep up. The host did not really check in on us at the back and just stayed at the front of the pack which was unfortunate.
The snuggles with the goats happened the last 10 minutes (which was the best part) - just wish there was more time than that.

We loved snuggling and petting the goats. Overall good experience, but feel as though it was way too pricey for what it was.

This was a great experience. My sister, my 4 year old niece and myself did both the Shmurgle and the goat cuddle. The Shmurgle was great and I liked that you walked around with them as well as sitting in the pen instead of just sitting. I would say for those with mobility issues, the Schmurgle is a walk with a bit of a hill.
We also did the goat cuddle. I would say you can do either or. It wasn't necessary to do both as many of the baby goats from the cuddle were included in the regular Schmurgle.
Both the Shmurgle and cuddle had 10 or less people which was great. More than that would have been a lot.
We didn't do the Cafe as many items have goat cheese which isn't a favourite but brought snacks and hung out by the car between events.
It was a great day and everyone loved it.
