As renters in nearby Sauble Beach my wife and I and other family golfers have loved this course over the last quarter century. It is second only to Cobble Hill on the other side of the Bruce Peninsula in respect to quality. 27 holes (they tell you your 18) of magnificently maintained fairways and greens in a wonderful bucolic landscape, the track provides challenges and relief for every level of player.

But not you. This is a semi-private course. Some time ago the course instituted a mere 4 day booking time, rather than the standard 7 to 12 period. I get it. Members (permanent residents of the area) preferred. Unless you're a single willing to play at 6:30 am, tough when you're enjoying the Sauble/South Bruce area, or 4 pm when you may have to drag along your other players to complete your 18 holes, this track just won't appeal to you. We spend our green fees elsewhere now. Too bad, but we'll live for golf.

This is the jewel of South Bruce, and deservedly so. Three nines challenge the low to high handicapper, with a tremendous variety of sand and water hazards and hole lengths. It does not punish, however, but rewards even decent shots with reasonable hole lengths. So many holes are memorable, but we really liked hole 4 on Legacy and 5 on Sunrise. Full and delicious restaurant and well-equipped pro shop. At a mere $7 more than the green fees with cart for two ($167) than Sauble Golf & CC (see my review), there is no comparison with what’s on offer at this great course.

Played this course last week and what a pleasure it was. The course is in beautiful condition and is very lush. The staff was very pleasant and even the members that I talked to in the proshop were great to talk to. They even approached on on the course when we made the turn to see how we were enjoying our round. Just an over all pleasant experience

I just played 2 nines at this 27 hole course. The course is in great condition. The greens were immaculate and the fairways green and lush. There are many memorable holes they are challenging but fair. The pro shop staff were very friendly and the grill offers a reasonable fair. Overall a great experience.

Played another course on second day of vacation. Carts were allowed on course despite very, very soggy course conditions. We were very disappointed and felt price was extremely high for calibre of course. Found UnderPAR package for this course and played all three nines the first day and our two favourites (Legacy-Sunrise) the second day. Course very good. Greens were surprisingly quick and some were challenging with subtle breaks. Nice layout. Well manicured. Provides challenges for all levels of player. With packages, this represented excellent value. Staff were good - friendly, reasonably attentive, although I wound up loading our bags on cart and running back into pro shop for a score card. Beverage cart and bistro staff were excellent. I saw a comment by another reviewer about members - I suppose the members see day players as a somewhat necessary evil. Not overjoyed when non-members roll up to the first tee. However, a good attitude, quick play and golf etiquette seem to go a long way to bringing them around. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. Will go back if in the area again. My first choice in the area by far.

This 27-hole golf course is the grande dame of courses in the area, and deservedly so. Immaculate fairways and unblemished greens highlight challenging holes that will be of interest to golfers of all levels. It is extremely lush in trees and shrubs, but not so ravenous of balls as unkempt flora can be. Pleasant and accommodating pro shop staff help make the golf experience here a memorable one. Access to this semi-private club comes at a price, however: at $164 for two papers with cart, the price is far from competitive compared to other courses in the area. Still, it's worth the expense.

Unless you are a member, you could be treated like an unwelcomed guest ...paid over $80 on a Wednesday to play a decent course...so much more available locally (Blackhorse, Legacy Ridge) that the value is not there for the money

A very good, well maintained and interesting 27 hole golf course. The original 18 was built in 1926 and 9 holes were added much later. The club has excellent practice facilities and a modern clubhouse. Summer rates are about $85.00 which is top money for this quality of course. We played one of the old and the new nine. Being designed and built in different eras presents a nice variety of holes and challenges. Friendly and accommodating staff.

Saugeen has never disappointed in our many sojourns in the area over the years. This semi-private course offers a choice of 27 holes, each well-manicured and challenging. The Sunset 9 are all well-treed and can be narrow, but course management will be rewarded over 3000 yards you shoot. The Sunrise 9 are more open over a slightly shorter experience, but more bunkers and water provide their own challenges. The Legacy 9 were closed when we played, but they are the longest and are fun. $55 pp including pull cart.
