Tasted lots of incredible wine and enjoyed a leisurely bike ride around PEC with a very knowledgeable and kind guide, saw adorable Alpacas and a cute lavender farm! Great experience for me and my boyfriend :)

did this wine tour with some friends during a long weekend this summer and it’s the absolute best! met at the location and a few other girls were on the tour with us. wayne, our tour guide, was there with our bikes and some snacks in our bike basket (water, gold fish, etc.). the trail was lovely to bike on and locals would say hi while we were riding. it was very hot and sunny that day so i would highly encourage lots of sunscreen, water and snacks. the wineries we went to were so awesome and the alpacas were too cute. wayne made us feel very comfortable and as BIPOC women we felt safe touring around with wayne! he also remembered all of our names :) highly highly recommend this tour!!!

Great day, the bike route is pretty flat, no need to be a expert biker. The guide knowledge of the County was a real add-on.

Loved the Sip and Cycle tour. I felt relaxed and safe the whole time- I was nervous about riding with cars zipping by and there was none of that. The wineries were lovely, our guide was knowledgeable and it was a really fun experience. This was the absolute highlight of our Prince Edward County holiday.

It was our first time in Prince Edward County and this bike tour was one of our favourite parts of the trip! We did a Saturday tour with Henry, who was an excellent guide. He gave us a ton of information about the history of the county and was very friendly - no wonder he knew everyone we passed by! We rode in a group of 6 and we quickly became friends with our tourmates. The four wineries we went to were all unique and service was friendly and efficient. We spent about 45 min at each stop. The wines were tasty and our indulgences were well balanced with the bike rides in between. The bikes were comfortable and weather was perfect. If we come back we would definitely do another wine tour with them - a fantastic experience!

I would highly recommend the Sip and Cycle tour! My friend and I had so much fun cycling, sipping wine, and learning about the history of the area. The tour guide, Jim, was extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the tour. He is very knowledgeable about wine in not just this region, but every region. He shared relevant facts and history about PEC grapes and vineyards/wineries. He really made the tour as amazing as possible!
All of the places we visited greeted us with a warm welcome and were excited to tell us about their wine. We loved experiencing the area and the passion for wine making.

Lots of fun. Only 20 km of actual cycling on gravel bike path or quiet country road. Some in group very inexperienced cyclists and they did fine. Wineries visited were all quite small and rustic but friendly eager service at each. We brought lunch but a few sold / served snack type items like cheese for an additional cost. Good tour guide.

I booked this sip & cycle tour for my partner and I, whom I should preface are a queer couple.
I also want to preface this by advising that the wineries themselves were great, this review is based on the experience with the tour guide. My partner and I are both femme and often people mistake us as friends. This is something that we acknowledge so we like to advise people that we're not that from the beginning of an interaction.
Upon starting this biking tour, our tour guide Jim, was biking beside each person just making small talk. He proceeded to ask my partner, who was in ear shot of me, if this was a "birthday, or girls trip" my partner responded with "oh no, it's our anniversary". Instead of responding with either a "nice" or "congrats" which I'm sure he would have if it were a straight couple, he decided not to acknowledge the comment and ride ahead of my partner with no acknowledgement of what she said at all.
This to me, although the tour guide did not explicitly saw "ew", his actions were a clear microaggression and an act of homophobia itself. This space is clearly safe for straight folks but my partner and I did not feel safe or acknowledged at all throughout the rest of the tour, and the tour guide definitely seemed to stray away from interacting with us for the remainder of the tour.
I personally would not book this tour again and wouldn't specifically would not recommend it to any queer folks.

Again, the wineries themselves were nice, but the tour clearly exhibited that they don't acknowledge/ aren't a safe space for queer folks/couples.

Hi Christina, My name is Sheba Zaidi and I’m one of 3 co-founders of County Wine Tours. My co-founders & I started this company because we saw a need for an inclusive, fun tour bicycle wine tour company in Prince Edward County. All three of us lived in Toronto when we started this company (though 2 of us now live in PEC), and we have extremely diverse backgrounds (I grew up in Oman). The reason I share this is because we have always tried to create a tour experience that is inclusive to anyone, regardless of background. We were distressed to hear about your experience on the tour, and have since followed up with our guides to ensure that they are living our values on every tour. We have a zero tolerance policy for anything that would be considered discriminatory, and our main focus is ensuring that the tours are a safe place for everyone. Your feedback will only help us to improve our training and experience. You can reach us directly at sheba@thecountywinetours.com if you have any additional feedback or concerns.
