This was one of those places we just happened to stumble upon while exploring the island. We parked and got out and immediately smelled fir trees. We saw a little stream coming down the side of the grassy hill and then a long staircase down below where we could see that stream trickle into a waterfall! We explored the beach for a bit and then when we were done we went back up and noticed tiny strawberries in the field. It was one of our favorite places of our whole trip. Not sure if the waterfall will always be there but still a great place to visit.

Argyle shore is the reddest of all beaches on P.E.I.
I personally loved the place.
Been the P.E.I. before but this place was my favorite by far and no one bothers you since the beach is so wide and long.
It is about 20 min. drive from the Confederation Bridge.
AMAZING!!!
by the way... Don't forget to wash your body with the Argyle sand/mudd, makes then you wash in the ocean, at night you will soon realize how soft your skin is!!!
GREAT GREAT GREAT experience!!!!

We were lucky to visit on a day that was not too busy. We also lucked out with the tide. The water started to recede when we arrive and soon enough the beach was fully uncovered.
The cliff and the beaches are breathtaking. Lots of shore birds feasting on the little crustaceans exposed by the low tide (check the many hermit crabs left behind).
Walking on the rocks and on the sand is also much fun. A piece of advice bring with you some rubber sleepers (the kind you use to shower at the gym for example). You could easily ruin a good pair of sneakers in the sand and there are too many sharp little rocks to walk barefoot.
Picnic on the cliff and enjoy a breathtaking view of the straight.
The place is well maintained. It has bathroom and outdoors showers where you can rinse your feet.
Beware, the parking lot is small.
Terrific for the entire family. However note that the access to the beach is steep and might not suit very small children, elderly or people with mobility issues.

This was a very nice beach with red sand and lots to explore for the kids. There were very few people for a Thursday morning and the tide was low so the sand banks were prominent.
My kids and I decided to dig for clams with a few garden tools and a bucket. I read that you should look for small holes in the sand to start digging. Well, my son became an expert in no time and found several clams right away!
He found some really big ones about the size of a large fist (maybe 5 inches across). We were having so much fun that we didn't notice the tide coming in - and it came in fast. We also caught a few crabs that were about 4 inches across but let them go in the water.
We let the clams sit in ocean water for about an hour to purge them of sand, and boiled them in the same water for about five minutes. They opened up and looked great. After separating the meat from the shell, I dipped it in a glass of water to let the excess sand fall off. Then we put some seafood sauce on them and enjoyed the sweet taste of fresh caught clams. They were superb!

This is the only beach we went in PEI. Loved this place! The red sand was amazing!!! Oh when you exit the highway, make sure you drive on the paved road (I drove on a rugged driveway parallel to the paved road and led to a private property... awkward lol)

We had never seen a red sand beach before this trip to PEI. Argyle Shores Provincial Park was a beautiful, quite area where we could appreciate the island's famous red sand. The upper part of the park offers a grassy area for picnics and deck to overlook the beach. There were only a few other people exploring the shore, so we were able to take in the natural beauty of the beach. Some of the other beaches that we visited, even in Prince Edward Island National Park, were crowded with tourists. Argyle Shores Provincial Park is a more peaceful place to enjoy the coast and hunt for shells and other ocean-life.

The beach has pretty easy access, just a nice place. Loved the whole atmosphere here. Nothing to really complain about.

Lovely little park in off season. Probably quite busy in the summer. Close to Blue Spruces Cottages.

So it was a very rainy day, but my gf and I wanted to see a red sand beach so went anyway. We had to contend with the weather, but not with any crowds even though it was a Saturday. We both thought it was cool and still worth a visit...could picture a good day at the beach here
