Don't watch the video if you are expecting to get the specials advertised on the sign and the video.
Aug 2014 • Couples
Let's start out by saying the soap is very nice which is why I was up set about not getting the special after watching their movie. On the shelf next to the video is a sign that says "watch the video and get our $35 bar of soap for $20... Good deal if you like the soap and want a good price. This bar makes about 8 of their $5.?? bars. As you watch the video at the end they have a special of buy $30 get one bar free... $60 get three bars free and so on.
So we watched the movie about their soap, which is interesting. Go to the counter to get my big bar of soap... They have no more... Ok I will just do the bar special. Not offered now... They have a summer special... Which is not as good a deal. Asked if I could get a discount on their larger $65 bars of soap.... No.
Ok, I have done everything I was asked to do to get a video discount and they are not honoring their written advertising. So I ask her to see the manager. Now understand this place makes
their soap in these large bars... All of the scents. But I am told their are none for the special. I ask again about the larger bar for $65... I am told that they don't make the one sitting out anymore so I say again... "Can I buy it for the same discount". After thinking about it she agrees to sell me ONLY the discontinued scent for that price and this was a one time deal and don't expect it next time I come in.
So if you are going to watch the video because you want to know how to make soap go for it... There may or may not be a special deal for you at the end.
To the owner... If someone asks for something you have told them they would get, but you don't have it offer them something they find reasonable in it place or get more write ups like this one.

Horrible Service By Store Manager! Product Caused Major Problem And She Didn't Apologize Or Try To Make Up For It. Love The Goats But I Will Never Go Back Again.

We have purchased their products for years and love them. We always purchase our yearly supply of soaps on our annual PEI summer vacation. This year, for the first time, the shelves were nearly bare. I couldn't purchase any of my favorite products. Very disappointed.

Not only is there a large variety of products such as soaps, cheeses and goat's milk, but there is a dairy bar offering ice-cream as well. The owner, David, was very friendly and helpful and we loved visiting with the goats and sheep too!

While seeing some sights in the Eastern part if PEI we suddenly came upon the Great Canadian Soap Company. After parking the car we passed right by the goats that are the basis for this Company and they came to us looking for attention ! On entering the Store of this family owned business we were asked if we would like to see the video. We were directed to a small room with benches adjacent to the retail part and there watched a 12 minute video of "their story" as well as explaining
the process of making their products AND the misconception of what we perceive to be soaps. Very educational and informative.
The Store is a very casual environment with many products to choose from. They do mail order as well ! This was a great addition to our "day of discovery and adventure".

Visiting here was a unique experience. From the moment you step out of your car you see the goats that produce the milk for the soap and when you step in the shop you can see the soap being made. The only difficult part is deciding which soap you want to purchase because there are so many to chose from. I highly recommend the peppermint soap. It smells lovely and is light enough that it isn't overpowering. The products are high quality and well made (I wouldn't be making this review if they weren't).
Next to the fence there is a bucket that provides "oats for the goats". They are the silliest creatures with their own personalities. The one kept getting out while we were there. This experience can only be experienced in PEI. I recommend making the trip. But if you can't make it there you can purchase their products online as many of my relatives still do.

I didn't think I'd enjoy visiting a Soap shop, but this was definitely a place worth stopping at!
What I enjoyed most of all was feeding and petting the baby goats that were there! They are so cute and friendly, they actually look like they're smiling!
There are also two very friendly dogs on the property and my wife (a real dog lover) was even more happy to be petting them than seeing or petting the goats.
My wife makes her own handmade soap and still bought soap from the store, this store is great for those that have sensitive skin, eczema or other issues. There's a "bug-off" soap available as well.
These products are so much better than what's on the market. Make sure you watch the soap video and visit www.cosmeticsdatabase.org and check your products for carcinogens and the like.
We ended up throwing everything we had out and my wife makes our soap, shampoo, skin lotion, lip balm, sunblock and toothsoap.

We stopped in to the Great Canadian Soap Company a couple of weeks ago while on a family vacation to PEI to visit my nephew who is attending college. When we first arrived we were so excited to see that we could feed the goats! They are very sweet animals! When we went into the shop I was very impressed with their selection and quality of soaps. They even have a video playing that tells you all about how they make their soap and how it differs from commercially produced "beauty bars" that pose as soap but actually aren't. The varities of soaps available was fantastic and they have a great deal where you buy 6 soaps and you get 3 more free...what a fantastic deal! I came away with 9 soaps and 1 container of grapefruit shea butter. I also bought one of the lip balms but it ended up breaking my lips out however my lips are very sensitive. I will definitely be stopping in here again on my next trip to PEI!

We love goat milk soap, so this was a stop we had planned on! The goats were fun to see and then we went into the soap shop. So many scents! We smelled them all and bought over a dozen bars. I am happy to know they will ship to the USA! Sampled some cheese, but since we were traveling, we couldn't keep it chilled. We also sampled the creams, but I thought they seemed too pricey. A lovely environmentally-conscious business! As we were leaving, we stopped by the ice cream shack and had a goats milk icecream - interesting texture - crumbly like the high protein ice creams out now. The flavor was not goaty, but not great. Love the soap since we've used a bar at home!

This little soap company offers a little bit for everyone. Goats to pet, soap, natural remedies. Then you move next door and can get goats’s milk, cheese and ice cream. So something for everyone.
