Unless you are an Anne of Green Gables fan, I would recommend to spend your valuable vacation time elsewhere.
The highlight for me was the Beaver Tail from the snack shop.

Cute small museum which is a must for fans of the book series. There is the info centre and gift shop which you go through to head to the green gable house. It is the house that inspired the author and where they lived as a child.. on the grounds there are 2 trails through the forest, both are easy walks and very pretty,

My visit to Green Gables was my first...color me charmed. We took a motor coach tour of Charlottetown followed by a visit to Green Gables. The Gables is about forty minutes from the port city. En route, are charming views of scrub fir forests, wetlands, and commercial oyster and mussel beds interspersed with marvelous views of the coastline.

The site itself takes on the visage of living museum with costumed interpreters, gardens, carriages, and a complete tour of the house. There is a café on premises and a fine visitor center with exceptional gift shop and exhibit area. Having not read the book, I enjoyed comments of those around me excited over the visit to Anne's room where they spied her special dress. They loved the moss rose tea service in the dining room and stated that it was set out for the vicar's visit. I had a great time and enjoyed my tour.

This is a 'must see' site when visiting Cavendish. Enjoy.

If you are a fan of Anne you must visit here! The house is a step into Anne's world. You can walk through the Haunted Wood as well! I had the pleasure of sitting on the lawn with Anne & Diana too!

If you haven’t read “Anne of Green Gables”, then chances are good you’ve seen any of the many film adaptations of this super charming story. And even if you haven’t, this is a beautiful and informative spot to visit here in PEI - and after you visit, I guarantee you will read the book or watch one of the movies! Beautiful and idyllic, extremely well done and curated. Walk down “Lover’s Lane” and the “Haunted Wood Trail” for two peaceful woodsy walks surrounded by babbling brooks. Very tasteful and not at all commercial however that said, the gift shop is excellent!

Reasonably priced. There is a cafe on site but it was closed when we were there on a weekday around 1:00 pm so eat before you get there. Public restroom available. Two gift shops with everything Anne/Green Gables you can imagine including the books themselves. There are horse carriage rides on site, a short nature path to walk and you can you down by the water too.

After reading Anne of Green Gables with my daughter, this visit was a must. The short walks down Lovers lane and the Haunted wood were also a nice touch to keep the family engaged. The information centre, the house, and the barn were great and if you are in Cavendish, you need to take a quick morning to visit.

Fun to step into the land of Anne. Like how everything was made to feel just like the stories we all know and love.

It was definitely the most crowded of the L.M. Montgomery attractions we visited. The house was a quick walk through in a line of people. The highlights were the visits to Lovers Lane and the Haunted Wood. The exhibit on L.M. Montgomery in the visitor center was excellent and thorough. This is a must-see attraction for any Montgomery fans. There is also a great gift shop.
