We had some time to kill, and saw this as we were passing by. Stopped in for some go-karts and bumper boats. Nice little amusement park. Especially like that you can either buy a day pass, or just a couple rides if you're making a quick stop (like we were).

My brother and I who are older and a bit of the heavy side went to Sandspit mainly for the bumper boats, but did end up going on the Roller coaster, bumper cars and bumper boats. FYI if you are a larger person the roller coaster only has one car with a larger seat belt to accommodate larger frames, so only my brother went as there was a big line. The bumper cars were fun, and so were the bumper boats. I did end up hurting myself on the bumper boats as the boat started floating away while I still had one foot on the dock, as a result I ended up hurting my knee. I was lucky though to have a nearby lady help me avoid falling into the water. I send a big thank you to her. That being said I did have a lot of fun on the bumper car/boats. After the boat incident though we left.

Went here with the family to play the mini putt. Mini putt is nothing to write home about but wasn’t bad. Access to grounds is free. We didn’t ride any rides but plenty of fun small rides ideal for younger kids (teens might be bored with it). Prices were fairly reasonable considering this is geared toward the tourist crowd. Good place to spend a few hours if you’re looking for change of pace from the beach or Anne of GG scene.

My family and I really enjoyed the rides and the experience. Staff was friendly and helpful. One ride was closed for maintenance but I’m guessing that it’s only for a short period of time. Our kids are 12, 10 and 7 and they all had a great day.

Most of the rides require reservation so had to opt with the go carts and games.
The go cart was very bumpy.
Very friendly staff.

Go-carts with the grandchildren sounded like fun.
After we paid for our tickets and walked over to the go-cart line-up, we then found people were shoving past us, yelling, and it was very crowded (not spaced out). There was no supervision or control by the young teenage staff.
Unfortunately, the carts are in serious need of repair. They are old, they rattled and shook -- so it felt like I was driving a piece of junk. My 36-year-old daughter felt the same (e.g. the body of her car shifted on the frame every time she cornered, and squished her leg -- ouch!).
I was really disappointed.
The teenage staff were friendly. However, although this was during August 2021 and COVID, and there was no attempt at physical distancing and no masks. Helmets and steering wheels were never sanitized between users.
Overall, just not a professional team, and I felt uncomfortable.
Will never go back. There are much better go-carts elsewhere (e.g. Magnetic Hill in Moncton, NB).

It was a decent experience except the roller coaster was down the whole time we were there. It wasn’t posted anywhere. We still paid the full amount even though this is the main attraction to most people. Very disappointing.

The rides were generally very fun. Aside from the Cyclone, mini golf and train it is very similar to Thomas Amusements. This is my second time reviewing Sandspit and this review is fair based on comparing it with other parks and the age of my children. Despite a lower number of day passes sold (weekly passes are not offered at the moment) physical distancing is not possible. My children (three girls aged 11, 10 and 6) were happy with the rides, but were disappointed with the carnival games. I understand that they are not meant to be easy, but after the attendant saw that we spent over thirty dollars, the least he could have done is allowed my six year old to get a prize, especially since she knocked over three of the cans, but one happened to be still on the edge of the circle and she also got the frog on the flower platform but not in the yellow flower. In another case, the ball that counted a number landed on the divider and the attendant moved it into the slot with his hand rather than counting it as zero. Again, given the circumstances (over thirty spent and the last one being the cans) I believe he should have showed a little compassion and caring (or any emotion at all for that matter). Regarding the staff in general, I believe they should be more rigorously trained for dealing with the public. There are many webinars online that can be found with a simple Google search. Regarding the games, I think a good idea would be to include a small prize coupon if the patron buys a minimum amount of tickets. Lastly, the ball pit is now gone and is replaced with a small roller coaster; I think that it could have been a better choice that involved some physical activity. Overall, Sandspit is worth visiting while in Cavendish but you may have to lower your expectations regarding some of the experiences other than the rides themselves.

You can purchase tickets for the rides you want to go on. I think the go carts are 5 tickets and the roller coaster were 3 tickets each

When is this opening for the 2017 summer? We are here now ( June13-18) and wondered if it will open before we leave? Also, what are the hours? Thanks, we have been here before and loved it!!

Hi Gayle, Sandspit opens for the summer on June 15, 2017, and is open Thursday and Friday from 9:30am until 3:30pm, and is open Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 6pm. We are so happy that you enjoy the park!

Hi, Wondering if the admission price is required to enter the park, or if it's only to go on the rides. We are traveling with grandparents who will not be interested in the rides, but would happily walk through the park. we are buying tickets in advance as it's a better deal, so i'm wondering if i need tickets for them???

Sorry for delay but yeas, an entry fee is required. I understand your gp needs, you may want to ask when you arrive. This park is great for kids inder about 14.
