These National Heritage sites have been carefully restored and furnished to honour one of Canada's most beloved authors. The committee of volunteers has worked tirelessly to give the public an authentic look at how Maud lived and wrote many of her books while living in...More

This place is highly deceptive. The nature trail leads you onto the grounds where there is a very misleading sign. If you set foot in the building they will try to charge you an exhoevitant fee for having followed the fee to the building. They...More

My wife was enthralled and loved seeing where LMM had lived when writing her books. For me it was a short walk on some pretty trails. Good news - it feels quaint and authentic, not like a theme park.

If you are in the area, it may be worth your time to see the location, otherwise, it's not really much to see.

We loved the personal touch of having John Ross MacNeill, Maud's decedent, share the history of her days here and point out the meaningful sites on the property. His grandparents have lovingly restored as much as they could and the book store is beautiful. It...More

Really enjoyed all the plaques that quoted Lucy's thoughts and love for the homestead she grew up in. The staff was helpful. I appreciated that they are protecting the memories, and value the imagination of a beloved author.

For a modest fee, either directly at the site, or combined with that at the Parks Canada Green Gables site, one can tour the grounds that inspired Lucy Maud Montgomery to write her Anne of Green Gables books and where she wrote her first four...More

We decided to start our AOGG tour first with LMM Cavendish home. We were happy we did! The bookstore had this young man who was very helpful and shared insights into the site. We walked around the gardens which had little excerpts/quotes of LMM life....More

We drove here after visiting the House, and to be honest we’re a little bit disappointed......there are foundations to see and some nice walks, but that was about it, and I don’t think worth the $6 entrance fee.

We drove to this site after visiting the green gables house. We walked the grounds, saw the foundation of the house the author wrote Anne Of Green Gables in, and the fields were she played and the woods where she explored. It was a stop...More

One would have to be seriously interested in the life of L.M. Montgomery to truly appreciate this place. Granted, it is much less commercialized than Green Gables, but the signage with quotes from Lucy Maud's journals could sail above the heads of little ones. There...More

Even though all that remains are the footing of the orginal home, the highlight was some of the hstory by the great grandson of the author. His backgound gave meaning to what we were able to see of the remains.
