A white sand beach on the Red Soil Island. Fun for the entire family ... sand surf paddle boards and beach games. Very fun.

Fantastic eco-tour with very knowledgeable and experienced guides! It included a beautiful beach walk where we learned about a variety of seaweeds and the dune system, then explored the marine life in the lagoon and topped it all off with a lovely picnic of seaweed inspired recipes - my favorites being the short bread cookies and biscuits with locally made jam 😊. I highly recommend this tour for all ages. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the natural beauty of Basin Head – a true gem in Eastern PEI and not to be missed. A big thank you to Madelyn and Frances for making it a memorable experience!

As seniors we were looking for a tour that was not too strenuous and this was perfect. We met Frances who took us for a walk down Basin Head beach showing us all different types of seaweed, and edible plants. We made the sand sing , saw the dunes and learned of their fragility. When it was time for the picnic I tried everything and seaweed tastes very good especially the sesame chips. I highly reccomend this very informative tour!

An intelligent and educational tour of Basin Head Beach! The early start is perfect to avoid the crowds. Very knowledgeable staff. Hands-on for young kids who may not benefit as much on the details of the marine and geographical discussions. A unique experience that we will always remember!! Note: Fees for this experience goes towards a non-profit organization that works directly on maintaining and supporting local wildlife and natural habitats. A very worthy cause in my opinion.

We were touring around the island visiting beach, lighthouses and things of interest. We stopped here at Basin Head and saw it under construction. We thought maybe we should turn around but we were here and ready for a picnic lunch. The boardwalk and basin area were getting a facelift and looked like it would be a really nice place to visit once they finished. We went down to the beach area and had a nice visit on the soft sandy beach with some pretty red cliffs on the west side. The boardwalk step had been washed away at the very end down to the beach but that did not stop us. Very peaceful like some many places on PEI.
