You can't get too close to the birds, as they are very shy, but we saw hundreds of them. They are as beautiful and graceful as you could imagine. We saw other birds here, as well: roseate spoonbills, and many other shore birds. Be sure to arrange for a guide ahead of time through the Bahamas National Trust.

Came here on a business associated with the military and i tell you, there's not much here. Morton Salt company has a large portion of the island where the process salt. This entire island has plenty of land for development. This is an investors paradise.

Home to tens of thousands of flamingos, Great Inagua is a great stop when island hopping in the Bahamas. We snorkeled for hours off a beautiful beach that was blessed with soft white sand and crystal clear water.

Our cruise ship landed us on the beach and it was superb, clean, soft sand and warm water. It was really too far in the time we felt we had to explore for the wildlife havens. In the distance we could see the salt mounds and ship terminal from which salt is exported but it did not spoil the views.... More

Good birding, rough roads so hire a decent vehicle, (not from Ingraham's Rental though, we broke down and their pricing was 100% more than if organized though Morton Main House.

Gear Inagua National Park is an excellent park for bird watching. the park has over 151 different species of birds including the Bahama parrot and the largest flock of flamingoes in the Western Hemisphere. The park also has thousands of wild donkeys and hogs which was introduced to the island in 1749 by the French.
