Tecate is a great alternative for those too afraid to visit Tijuana, and is an easy, scenic 45 minute drive east from San Diego on Highway 94. Once you arrive on the U.S. side of the border, there are numerous public parking lots where you can park your car for less than 10 bucks, then walk across the border into... More

Tecate is a great place to visit and the Brewery get's a thumbs up. Something not mentioned is how easy it is to reach the US side of the border via public transportation. With a $2 compass card and a maximum $5.00 a day you can ride all the buses and light rail trolley all day long. This includes the... More

Hieneken bought this brewery along with the cities natural water supply the brewery is being modified by Hieneken and the personnel replaced. No tours. The best Mexican bread in Tecate is at Padaneria Integral next to the brewery.

On New Years Day my two friends and I drove to Tecate, California to try to get into the Tecate Brewery. Now I had tried for a full week to call the brewery as that is what someone had posted on TripAdvisor to do. So if you are set on only going inside and cannot get a hold of anyone... More

The Tecate brewery is a great diversion. I have toured the brewery several times and always find that it is amazingly clean, well organized and efficient. The free beer in the "beer garden" is always a must do when in Tecate.

We really enjoyed our holiday. We visited the brewery on the last day (2015) before the brewery has sadly closed.

Went down to Tecate with some friends on New Year's weekend. Unfortunately, we found the beer garden was closed for remodeling. Looks like it will be a while before it will reopen. Did grab some good tacos on the walk back to the border.

November 18, 2015 – Tecate Brewery Tours are currently not offered – will resume in 2017. My intent was to schedule tour dates in NOV / DEC 2015. Telephone numbers and email address previously listed are no longer current. However, I sent a request via email to CONTACTO@CUAMOC.COM and had a reply within hours. First email reply I received requested... More

As everyone else has said, you go in, you get a free beer. I understand that if you are staying in town you can do this daily! A free beer every day, how cool is that? You don't even need to take the tour. It is good for adults, not so much fun for kids. The outside patio has a... More

My wife and I decided to make the short trip into Tecate to visit the brewery. Easy border crossing, short walk to the brewery, friendly service there and a free beer. Walked to the town square and enjoyed some great food. Wanted to love it and come back with friends. As we left to walk around Tecate, we noticed two... More
