Jen arranged the most awesome tour. It was filled with history, culture, archaeology, and nature. It went from a city, through the jungle ruins of the Maya and ended up on the Mexican Caribbean. There were lots of incredible and unique shopping opportunities and everyday had activities that kept everyone engaged. Jen does wonderful job of managing all the details.

The Birds of the Mayan Empire was a fabulous trip! Adrian, a top-notch ornithologist, provided us with sitings I would have certainly missed. He has a quick, keen eye and was very knowledgeable about the 100+ different birds we saw!
Jaime, who had brought his font of knowledge about Mexican history on a previous trip I was on with Copper Moon Travels, did not disappoint. I left with a solid foundation about Mayan history and an interest to build on it. He also introduced us to various ways to get vitamin T...very important when traveling in Mexico.
Jennifer did a great job with meals, accommodations, museums and inserting other points of interest.(artisan visits and beautiful swimming opportunities in azure rivers) My second trip with Copper Moon Travels has me looking ahead for more trips with them.

This was an amazing experience. WE stayed overnight in a quaint village, "Tlalpujahua: the Mexican Magic Town where Christmas is eternal". We were provided with a fascinating lecture of the Monarch migration by an equally fascinating scientist. Meals were provided as well. There was a problem with the (lack of) heating in the hotel, but your guide was at least on top of that, advocating for a remedy.

The next morning we traveled the rest of the way to the monarch reserve. We chose the horseback ride for part of the journey up the mountain, others chose to hike it. At the top we witnessed an incredible display how thousands of monarchs, some filling a field and others huddled in the fir trees for warmth. After that incredible experience we headed back down the mountain for some more incredible food. Then it was back into the private bus for the trip back.

While other tours may cost less, this one is well worth the expense. It felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the monarch sanctuary with an expert on preserving the reserves and researching the migration of these butterflies. I enjoyed all aspects of the trip!

Visiting the monarch butterflies was awe inspiring. A once in a lifetime adventure that will stay with me for a long time. So many butterflies! Copper moon travel made it easy. They booked the hotel and arranged food and transportation from guanajuato gto. I enjoyed meeting new people on the tour but mostly I will remember the butterflies.

This was a great introduction to this unique region of Mexico. Jennifer is knowledgeable and passionate and ensured we had comfortable landings after each full day of adventure. I will happily repeat this tour as well as engage Jennifer snd Copper Moon Travels in other Mexico Tours.

This was a great trip! The B&B and ranch hotel were beyond great, many home cooked meals provided on our time schedule. As a novice on Mayan culture, archeology and history, our guide was extremely knowledgeable. We even visited a hidden gem archeological site, by boat. I highly recommend this trip!

My 12 year-old and I participated in Día de Muertos adventures with Copper Moon Tours from October 30 through November 3, 2023. Jen put together such an amazing experience for us that I never could have organized on my own. Our guide Jaime was an incredible storyteller and we both learned so much about the Purépecha people and the customs surrounding Día de Muertos. The tours were conducted with the upmost consideration and respect for the holiday and the people who actually live in Pátzcuaro and the nearby islands and towns that we visited. Thank-you so much, Jen and Jaime!

Thank you so much for your kind review! We truly enjoyed meeting you both, and I know the other guests were also very impressed with your daughter! It was a real treat to have someone young with us for this experience - she is one lucky girl to have a mom bring her for these kinds of experiences! We look forward to exploring with you both again! Warm Wishes, Jennifer

Jennifer provides the kind of tour that feels once in a lifetime — getting to the essence of the Day of the Dead. She arranges multiple experiences, not just the usual, but finds places other tours don’t go to. We watched as offrendas were being installed. And went to out of the way Pueblos. where customs are unique — and very beautiful. we contributed to the decorations and broke tamales with the townspeople. Jennifer brings in highly knowledgeable experts to talk with us, teaching and exploring this beautiful tribute that Day of the Dead is and for a moment we are more than tourists. We’re welcome guests. Bravo to Coppermoon for treating Day of the Dead with the respect, curiosity and professionalism it deserves! My friend and I agreed that this the three days we spent with Jennifer and Jaime made up one of the best trips we’d ever been on —

Thank you for such a touching review! You were both a joy to travel with, and I’m so glad this trip made a valuable impression! I truly am grateful to work with such an experienced and sensitive guide as Jaime, as we both underline the importance of ethical protocols around cultural observations. Dia de Muertos is certainly sacred, and can be quite transformative for our guests. It is a joy to introduce visitors to such warm-hearted communities, where we are invited to break tamales! Thank you again - I really hope you consider joining us for some of our other tours in Mexico! - Warm Wishes, Jennifer Bjarnason (Proprietor)

We took the Día de muertos sunrise tour November 2, 2023. This tour was everything we expected and more! We were picked up by our driver Gerado who was right on time, courteous and helpful. Jenn kept us informed with timely texts indicating times and helpful hints like bring a jacket for the boat tide! This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience these ancient and sacred rituals in an authentic setting. I highly recommend this Día de muertos sunrise tour!

Muchas Gracias for such a beautiful review - I will be truly happy to share this with Gerardo! I am so glad you had a wonderful time, and that your journey was so special - the cemeteries of this region are deeply enchanting, as is the tradition of ancestor worship. I look forward to touring with you again in future! - Jennifer Bjarnason (Proprietor)
