The two cenotes are really worth the visit, but that being said it is always really annoying when you have to walk pass the markets offering things that you don't really want, that really bothers me and especially with small kids it is even more annoying as they want to check it all out. We visited with our almost three... More

Followed the signs to Dzitnup and easily found the parking lot for Cenote Samula and Cenote Xkeken. We paid about $8 USD to get into the both. Safe parking lot and a trail to walk to both cenotes. I liked Xkeken better because of the hanging vines and stalactites. The water is crystal clear in both. There are bathrooms to... More

Now I know that tourism is an industry and people have to make a living out of it, but for my personal taste these two Cenotes are over developed now. That said, they are beautiful and I loved the bats flying around in one of them.

If you want to visit one of Mayan sacred cenotes, I recommend this cenote. The location has two cenotes, but I prefer to go the X'Keken. You will enjoy the light which come through the ceiling hole. It is absolutely beautiful. We have been there four times so far. Yes, we love this cenote a lot! I recommend you to... More

Wish we had longer amount of time to spend here, but we were on our way to Merida by car and it was late afternoon.

We arrived at Xkeken as soon as they opened and found it to be a peaceful and pleasant experience. Our kids really enjoyed swimming in the two cenotes. They are both more cave-like that hole-like, but you get fantastic photos once the sun shines through the holes in the roof! We had both cenotes to ourselves save for one or... More

We brought our kids to the this cenote park. It was very touristy, but overall we enjoyed the stop. The cenote was lit with electricity, there was an area to sit and watch or set down your swim towel, etc.

Absolutely loved the solid cent movement in Mexico, most people told me once i had been in one i had been in them all but I disagree. Each one offered something different, where it was nested, getting down to the cent, atmosphere, water, places to jump. This was an exceptionally good one and loved every minute. They do get a... I've done over 20 cenotes and this one is a prime example of the big, deep cavern full of stalagmites and stalactites. The water feels pure and there not too many people. The mayans selling their wares are very sweet. And though I didn't partake in other activities, there are a lot. ATV, horses, drinking, eating. And what looked like... More

Cenotes are lovely but the tourist juggernaut they have constructed around them, starting with an attempt to upsell you to a package, followed by aggressive attempts to sell guide and photo services once you buy your ticket and completed with rows of shops you need to pass and decline to buy from before actually entering the cenote ruined the experience....
