Great spot to cool down after visiting the ruins, is a 1.5km walk in, can rent a bike or be driven in. There is ok lockers and a small zip line, Tarzan swing, and a neat diving platform. Afterwards we had some traditional Myan food at a little lunch spot, limited menu but foods was excellent, cooked on a neat... More

Great little cenote with the usual places to swing and jump. You will really enjoy the cool water here after climbing the pyramid at Ek Balam in the hot sun!

A nice addition after visiting the ruins. With Ditznup and Zaci in downtown Valladolid, this is a top cenote.

The cenote at Ek Balam isn't the one in the photo!? The cenote on the arqueológica site is X' Canché. Costs $50 mxn to get in. It's very deep, not a lot to hold on to ( one rope) and cold ...but not many tourists on a monday. There's a rope swing and a diving platform. Lots of fish and... More

A cenote is a cenote. They are well organized with safe box, shower etc. The water is clear with plenty of fish. The best part however is the local restaurant with some excellent native food.

Our family opted for a daytrip to Ek Balam Cenote / Ek Balam Ruins during our recent trip to Mexico. Located within a traditional mayan village, the cenote experience, is worth your while. While our boys (aged 7 and 9 years) opted for the stairs instead of repelling down into this cool natural cave, my husband and I made our... More

We had it to ourselves. Well, strictly not true - we needed to share with the lizards, humming birds, kingfishers, and black fish with long whiskers. It's an amazing sight - a sinkhole with clear cool water, 42 degrees at top, but down here, chilled and pleasant. I'd ignore you the zipline and rope swings and just get in. It's... More

You go down a long flight of stone steps to reach the Cenote. It is well fiited out with railings and steps and there are ropes in the water if you want to hang on. When we got in it was a bit chilly, but that soon wore off. It was a great swim, but after diving in salt water,... More

Booked a tour with ALLTOURNATIVE ecoarchaeological expeditions tripadvisor.com/alltournative Our tour guide Maeva Coupanec was fun, knowledgeable, and awesome. We spent more time down the cenote since there were not a lot of people around this time. Cameras (unless you have a GoPro or the likes with a harness) are not allowed. No footwear. They have a secure locker for your... More
