I have just got back from a guided walk which is held on Sundays at 2.30pm. What a fantastic tour of local Amersham, the walks are between 1 ½ to 2 hours long and cost only £2.50 each. Local knowledge and great views are all included in this tour. A pleasant gentle walk along the stream at the rear of... More

There are many interesting artifacts here and the museum will be expanding next year as they have purchased the property next door Remember , when visiting, to look at the garden too as there are many flowers and herbs used for medical purposes there Went on the history walk which was extremely interesting and I would recommend this

Our day coach excursion to ''Metroland'' made its final stop in charming Amersham today and it had been arranged that the museum would open specially for our party of 22. We were given an interesting talk in the garden and had plenty of time to look at the collections telling the history of the area from prehistoric times to the... More

This museum tells us the history of our town in objects , written material, photos and oral histories from living memory.. It is as interesting for my young Grandchildren as for their parents and me. It reaches out to all in the community with talks and walks round the town for adults and visits to schools and activities and objects... More

Staff are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble, they take tie to explain everything. The building itself is fascinating, being Medieval and the oldest in Old Amersham. Fine collections of local interest. Well worth a visit.

Small museum with lots of history, and sensible, helpful guides. Shows how Amersham developed from pre history to metroland. Well worth a quiet hour

Had a few hours to spare before the wedding we were attending so went along to visit Museum. Run by a charming and informative couple that used to live in Wells, Somerset, near us. The museum if small but packed with interesting information. Well laid out garden with all the plants named and what particular medical remedies they could be... More
