A Saturday afternoon quiet pint. Nine real ales on offer. Marbles Manchester bitter was excellent. Unfortunately no stouts or porters on offer. Pies etc on sale from old fashioned cover on the bar. Most customers seemed to be regulars. Nice cosy seating areas. Friendly service.

Real ales alternated regularly, fine selection of European lagers, excellent range of ciders, very pleasant and accommodating bar staff, cosy ambience and pork scratchings to boot. What more could you want!

Bit of a regular in here as it's my kind of pub with no fruit machines or music etc just you, your pint and conversation. Being partially deaf it is one of the only pubs I can chat in. They do not serve food either....More
