I go here quite often,a lovely place for a quiet walk,feed the swans and sometimes see the rabbits.Would have been nice to have a cafe there.

Interesting and free local attraction with lovely walks along river mersey. catalyst museum providing interaction activities and information of local industry. play area for children lots of wildlife bird's etc

Discovered Spike Island via the Halton Council Magazine and decided to check it out. A really pleasant walk on the banks of the Mersey with free parking. Much better (in my opinion) than Wigg Island on the Runcorn side which doesn’t offer such expansive river...More

the canal has a number of boats on it not far from the old transporter bridge site can see across the Mersey to Runcorn and if the Mersey is out you can see how people could walk across the sand to get to Runcorn rather...More

Went for a walk around Spike Island, it was very warm so a stop under the trees for a rest was great. Now the bridge is open and they are beginning to remove parts of the structures below things are opening up. I'll go again...More

spike island is a local beauty spot and well visited, theres a sports area,, a visitors centre run by the rangers but you dont have to do anything, just enjoy

Hi.sorry this late but been on holidays.There where people fishing but not sure about crabbing really didn’t look that close.You could have a go I suppose.Sorry Cant be more of a help.x

I don't see why not. it's more of canal/river. You'd just need to be really careful because there's lots of big swans & geese
