Situated on the Southern tip of Lake Windermere. Lakes Aquarium has a wide range of native marine and freshwater fish including Pike, Arctic Char, Seahorses and more. It is also home to Asian shortclawed otters, pygmy marmoset monkeys, Clown fish and amazing leaf cutter ants. Cafes and giftshops are available onsite and we can be reached by Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway or Windermere Lake Cruise as well as by car. Please note the car park is not owned by the aquarium and is pay and display. We are sorry but we cannot allow dogs inside the aquarium building.

We went in here and as with other attraction in the area it is well kept and clean. The exhibits looked well cared for. Although quite small they have got a great deal of exhibits inside and it does not feel cramped.

We took advantage of tesco clubcard days out vouchers to pay our admission on a rainy day. There was a reasonable amount to see, visit lasted about an hour. Otters were definitely the highlight!

Nice little aquarium, we visited on a very wet day in October. Good variety of reptiles, fish and amphibians and it wasn't overly expensive. The otters were very cute! It's a shame the staff seemed very disinterested (particularly upon arrival). The glass on a few of...More

Visited the aquarium and was pleasantly surprised. It’s much bigger inside than what it looks from outside. Enjoyed the walk around but was disappointed that a section was closed.More

Thank you for your review, we are pleased that you enjoyed the exhibits. Even if our snake does like to hide, you need good eyes to spot it! We hope that next time you visit it will be easier to spot.

Visited as part of the train/boat trip day out. Small aquarium, but what is there is well looked after and presented well. Staff friendly and knowledgeable, definitely worth a visit if waiting for the next boat/train

We had a trip here while visiting the area and it was a lovely little place. Yes, they don't have the biggest space but they work with what they've got. We loved looking at the different creatures, especially the otters. So cute!
