The beauty of the lakes never changes but the infrastructure does. I am sure that the publicans and restauranters run a cartel on pricing . Prices of beer and food are almost the same in every establishment, parking is a rip-off. It is no wonder people are not visiting so much, never seen the lakes so quiete in June. I live in the south east of England and prices are a lot cheaper here. Have had my last visit after 60 years and many changes 90% detrimental.

So easily overlooked, and offers so much.
Slaters Bridge has to be the best bridge in the National Park.
Always quiet here.
Great for romance.

I believe that this was recently quoted by one of the editors of Lonely Planet as his favourite places in the world. We can underhand why!

Beautiful peaks create a beautiful valley with some wonderful walks around Blea Tarn and up to some of the peaks. Bowfell will give your stunning views. You could literally walk for days but wherever you go stopping off at the National Trust owned Sticklebarn for a great meal with a good choice of beers

Little Langdale is not as busy as Great Langdale but there is lots to see.
Slater Pack Horse Bridge, Cathedral Quarries, Castle Howe an iron age fort and the Ting Mound near Fell Foot Farm where the Vikings held open air meetings.

Not forgetting the start of Wrynose Pass for those drivers who like a challenge.

There are lots of public foot paths that cross the area.

Little Langdale is a beautiful little valley and this gem of a tarn right in the middle is typically pretty. Walks to and around are very easy

This is a beautiful part of the Lake District which is easy to explore without climbing huge mountains. Beautiful tarns, rivers and woodland walks.
