My kids enjoyed this museum. we spent a day within the area and this was one of a few we stumble across.....we certainly don't plan everything but cannot believe I didn't see this previously!!! It wasn't a planned visit but certainly worth a visit.

I went with a specific query on a past `Ship & Ornamental Carver` - James Brooker, born in Liverpool in 1815, died in Sunderland 1860 age 45. John Whinwell had a feast of information on the Maryport man which he took the trouble to put...More

Well worth the entry fee. My wife and found it really interesting, we were treated to a talk on the history of the Maryport dock area by the guide in charge of reception.

A great place for kids!! My son was disappointed at the greatly advertised snake exhibition was only on in a Saturday, but apart from that a good value venue

A bit disappointed really overall. The exhibits that are there are good, just a bit limited and not enough given all the history of the port. Can be done in 15 minutes. Good extra input from the friendly guide.

We were the only ones in and the custodian spent a lot of time explaining the exhibits to us and also talking about Maryport in general . The price was relatively cheap which means most people would be able to afford it .
