We were very disappointed with the cafe food - the choice of sandwiches was very limited and our egg mayonnaise one was tasteless and dry, with no butter, hardly any mayonnaise and bread that was not fresh. The tea was lacking in flavour.

I stumbled onto Conishead purely by accident on a drive past and returned to visit the next day. Only disappointment was it was bucketing down but still worth the visit. They weren't doing tours but what I did see was beautiful. I was deeply moved by the temple and thoroughly loved the guided meditation. I enjoyed a super latte in the cafe and bought a book in the shop where I got talking to two really lovely people, one a female monk. I woud love to return here one day as I wanted to do the walk to Morecambe Bay but it was too wet on the day I went. Well worth a visit though

Nice place to visit. Relaxing. Nice walk along beach from Bardsea then through woods, or park at the priory itself. Tea room and gift shop worth a visit. We come here every time we are in the South lakes area. Walks in woods are nice, there is a little pet semetary nearby, and a small lake next to the priory.

Delicious food in the cafe , loads of vegetarian and gluten-free choices . The “fall” soup was absolutely gorgeous. We then enjoyed the free guided meditation in the temple . We didn’t walk through the woods this time as it was very muddy . We bought some lovely things in the shop . Everyone we met was very helpful and friendly too .

Conishead Priory is a grand old building that serves as an international meditation centre. Sat in very picturesque grounds near Ulverston. Nice cafe and gift shop

Visited with friends the beautiful temple, grounds and cafe. Such a relaxing place to be. We all enjoyed the beach walk, along the shore and back through the woods.

Lovely tranquil place and an opportunity to see something different. We looked around the temple and the staff were very helpful. we did one of the walks in the grounds but found the lack of signposting not helpful.
We were a little disappointed with the tea room as the scones were small and mass manufactured as opposed to being home made

We stumbled on Conishead and what a find. It is a beautiful place, stunning grounds and a must to visit. The cafe is excellent but short opening times. The grounds are a must for a walk and take the dog if you have one there is even a footpath to the beach as well as routes through the grounds (a free map of the routes is available in the house) Everyone is welcome and the house and temple are free to enter - and you are actively encouraged to do so. Inside the house are interesting history boards and a gift shop. Do give the Priory a go, you won't be dissapointed.
