A very enthusiastic and knowledge guide who made an entertaining tour for all ages. The demonstration showed how hard working conditions were. The information boards gave an even better insight into live there.

The chap who showed us around clearly had such love of the place that it made it come alive. As interesting for the social history as the industrial side of things.

It does not sound that exciting but it a fascinating place, especially seeing the equipment still working. A must see if you are in the area.

Take the guided tour which is excellent and you are also shown how bobbins used to be made on the machinery. You can buy drinks and snacks but ideally you can eat a picnic on the provided tables if it is dry.
