We have been through the tunnel four times now and still not been lucky enough to hear the sounds being played through it. It makes an interesting start to the Tissington Trail and it's fab for children who aren't easily spooked. There is a Sainsbury's...More

Brilliant example of the industry and craftsmanship of our forefathers, who tunnelled, hacked and built an amazing rail link up a 1 in 100 incline, start of the Tissington trail.Don't miss it!

If in Ashbourne the tunnel is well worth a visit and walk through - it's at the start of the Tissington Trail

its a tunnel you can walk / run / cycle through or pass through any way you like. with train sound effects, for the kids, its different, but nice to see a tunnel opened up and used instead of bricked up and unused.

Lovely walk down the trail, you can also hire bikes out on the day if you wish. Ashbourne itself is lovely, lots to do

The tunnel is part of the tissington trail, it leads you into Ashbourne town centre. It is a lovely walk through the tunnel with added sounds of old trains going through. There is also bike hire on the trail.
