A really beautiful part of the country. Lots of varied walks and plenty of places to grab a nice drink a long the way. A must see

Being a sunday it was very busy so go on a weekday if you can. Once we managed to park we were rewarded with great views and a nice walk along the damn wall.

We went to Derwent Reservoir and had a lovely walk between the two dams, the road was having work done on it and was slightly muddy but this didn't make any difference to us. Sadly we were just walking down the side of the lower dam when two RAF Aircraft flew over the top, 5 minutes either way and we... More

I would say that the Peak district rivals the lake district in terms of views and landscape, it is also quieter, the down side is that it does not have the facilities of the lakes or even North Wales. A dearth of decent pubs restaurants or hotels. The marketing is not as good and the facilities are therefore left wanting.

Not being from around the area, took ages to find a spot to park the car. Lovely views , super walk. Highly recommended.

We love walking along the Ladybower reservoir, particularly when the water is high and water is rushing down the enormous 'plug holes' into the overflow! We also go up to Winn Hill from here too, and there are spectacular views of the Reservoir from up there! We do this walk with our children (age 12 and 9).

I went here on a Saturday afternoon for the day. Beautiful scenery and a lovely walk around the reservoirs. Interesting history and so peaceful for an afternoon out.

We arrived at our accommodation (The Yorkshire Bridge Inn) and then went for a walk around the reservoir. It is pretty flat all the way and the further you walk, the less people you come across. It seems to be popular with dog walkers and so our terrier had the time of his life! It was foggy but still very... More
