Not my kind of pub, nice fire, but seems quite "clicky" Been in better pubs in the area. Not in the greatest of places to sit outside with the dog.

Group of pensioners met at the Black Bulls Head for a reunion drink and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Great beers, great company and a great barmaid who worked her little but off behind the bar as she was the only staff on duty. This pub doesn't have TV or music blaring out which allows people to talk, which is rare these... More

Popped in with a couple of members of my family mid-afternoon on a late august weekday. One friendly barmaid was plenty as it was fairly quiet . So much choice on beers. The best we had was the Valencia. A traditional local with reasonable prices. We missed out on the cheese and onion cobs as they had all gone (they... More

Well worth a visit if you like your ales and ciders. Good atmosphere and country pub feeling. The pub is split into a lounge and bar with an extra bar outside in the shed... sounds funny but it's worth a visit to the shed.

A group of 8 of us went last night for a friends gathering. We were in by 7.30pm and must have spent close on £200.00 on drinks between us. They rang the bell at 10.45 for last orders we went up a few minutes afterwards for the last round. Initially she wasn't going to serve us as she said there... More

Was told my autistic son was making too much noise, when I explained his condition the portly barman asked us to leave - we did with my little boy in floods of tears......flabbergasted to say the least. Avoid at all costs!!

The BBH has won a number of awards for it's selection of real ales and ciders and serves across both the main bar and the Bedlam Bar tucked away in the rear yard (the Bedlam bar is only open across the weekend and closes at 9pm (6pm on a Sunday)). Unlike some of the previous reviews, I have never had... More

You always know a pub is badly run, when there's a permanent sign on the door saying "Staff Wanted". Sadly, that's the case here. Probably because of this, the staff they do have are almost all very poor quality, and plainly have never had any training. The beers, whilst huge in choice, are very low on quality- always served flat,... More
