Enjoyed a good long walk with beautiful views across the peak district, is classed as an easy walk, good footwear is needed, preferably walking boots, it can be very windy and be prepared with a drink beacuse it can be thirsty work when the sun comes out, every one is very polite and says hello, Mam Nick national park car... We parked in the car park at the bottom which costs £3 for the whole day. A quick walk up the paved walkway leads to the top of Mam Tor and excellent views of the ridge walk and into the valley. Some parts are quite steep and would be difficult if you have walking or mobility issues.

We had a great time hiking on this route. It is not difficult for the regular Walkers. We went there on the busy day so parking was limited. We had to park on the road side.

This is a beautiful walk and well worth making the trip out to this part of the Peaks as there are many other lovely places to see within a stone's thrown - the drive down into Castleton from here for example is breathtaking. On reading some of the reviews we parked on the road rather than paying at the National... More

This was my first time doing the Mam Tor - Losehill walk, and what a day it was! The views from the ridge are fantastic, stretching across the Peaks. The walk is well worn and marked, with numerous options available (look at the OS Maps) for alternative routes. The climb up from Castleton past Blue John Cavern is wonderful, and... More

Great day out climbing hill and spectacular views at top. Interesting history about hill fort. Tricky to park in national trust car park as full but room on road.

I did the walk up Mam Tor across the Ridge to Losehill as part of a longer walk that started in Cave Dale. It started raining as I made my way up Mam Tor and the rain got heavier as I approached the summit. It was also very foggy so I could only catch glimpses of the breathtaking views in... More

Great place! We had a wander across the ridge, then got out our mountainbikes and explored in the other direction! Could of spent days there as there was so much to see - unfortunately it got dark and our legs got tired!! Highly recommend

Had this walk in mind for a few years. Managed it this year and did not regret it. Some of it is actually pave due to its popularity. I started at the Loosehill end and having reached Mam Tor then continued back to Castleton via Cave Dale which was well worth the effort.
