Recently traversed Stanage Edge. This time we climbed up from the Plantation car park which is just above Hathersage. Not too much effort in getting to the top. Awesome views in all directions and some exciting rock scenery, wild moorland and peak views. Crossed the...More

It's been about 20 years since we last did this walk but it's quite a reasonable circular route of around 8 miles. We got up to the ridge via a short scramble up the escarpment but there's a path below the ridge leading to the...More

Easy access. Good routes across a wide range of grades. Often busy in good weather and crowded on weekends with good weather so queues form for the popular routes.

Having climbed here in my younger days it was a pleasure to return after too long an absence. Everything looked steeper, harder and higher - I guess it's an age thing but it still gave me itchy feet and fingers.

First time here and what a great place. We walked from Hathersage and back in just over two hours. Some excellent scenery on the way up and a fantastic view from the top of Stanage Edge. Was very windy though.
