A beautiful original Tudor House still privately owned and lived in with outstanding features and lovely themed gardens. A real gem to discover, hidden away in the pretty village of Bramber. At treasure trove within as well as the owners are vivid collectors and conservators and only to happy to take visitors around the house. Lovely volunteers to talk to,... More

Words cannot describe this small gem. This ancient Tudor house will reveal something unforgettable. A lovely garden from fairy tales. Inside it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited in England, indeed. I highly recommend a visit: as soon as you will cross the gate, you will forget the world outside.

Lovely old Tudor home & garden that is well-worth a visit. We spent a wonderful, sunny afternoon wandering in the various garden "rooms" and enjoying this incredible Tudor house. Highly recommended.

Arrived at 2pm and suddenly it was 4.30pm. This is another gem found on the HHA app. The mix of an old house dating to the mid-1400s, a varied collection of sometimes eccentric objects and furniture, the extensive and varied gardens, a restored greenhouse, a small rural museum, glimpses of the lives of current owners, a tea room – an... A friend and I spent a lovely afternoon exploring the house and extensive gardens and enjoying tea. I have been here several times and there are always new areas to explore in the colorful gardens.

My Daughter and I just wanted to pop out somewhere different for a few hours. Looked on the net, and found this absolute gem. We thought we knew all the local houses and gardens, but how we hadn't come across this beautiful place is a mistery. It was built in the 15th century to be used as an Inn, for... More

The history of this house is incredible. I visited for the first time in May and was impressed by how many volunteer staff were available on site, offering their knowledge. The surrounding gardens were beautiful and full of wildlife. The Poetry Garden was a particularly good idea! This is a fantastic day out for anyone wanting to expand their knowledge... More

Wonderful old pilgrims' medieval building with surprising additions. Entirely restored by the present owners. Fascinating collections ranging from the weird to the historical (Napoleon). Beautiful secret garden - even though I saw it in a deluge!

This is a great place to go on a sunny Sunday afternoon. They take groups around and if you rang they would arrange this. The gardens can take an hour or so to look at, but the history of the inside of the house is marvellous and this is a house still being lived in.
