Called in quickly. To try out the meals as it was recommended. Lunch was excellent and the setting perfect. The kids loved being amongst the historical buildings. Planning to go back regularly

We stumbled across this museum whilst visiting the coffee centre in Mareeba, and were so impressed by the exhibits. It was packed with information and displays covering the first inhabitants of the area, then the settlers, the first world war, mining, a school room, the tobacco industry to name but a few. We spent a good 1.5 hours wandering round... More

Plenty of historical information and displays to look ar and read to get a feel for how the district developed and those who have had an impact on the area over the years. Great coffee shop and restaurant to relax after doing the tour of the facility.

The two older gentlemen on duty were so knowledgeable and helpful. Enjoyed the museum for a gold coin donation. Couldn't see all of it because of time available but so much more to see, very interesting place to visit and a good break from travel. Food and refreshment available.

A great place to visit with lots to see. The staff at the information centre are very friendly and helpful, with lots of advise on places to visit. The museum is free .. with a donation if you want. It's worth a look at. Just love Mareeba and its people.

We stopped off in Mareeba on our way from the Tablelands to Port Douglas as we were told there was a market. That was pretty mediocre but what we did find was this wonderful heritage museum. It starts with aboriginal life, then the settlers, world wars , mining , tobacco and life in this town through the 1800s and 1900s.... More
