This really is a beautiful and long expanse of beach.... not really for swimming as there are rips, but perfect for surfing. There have also been the occasional fisherman seen at the waters edge. It is clean and generally not too many people to interrupt your relaxing walk (with or without dog and children).

Very close to where we stayed, this is a lovely little beach on the western side of Port Elliot. It’s overlooked by many large contemporary homes. The day of the shack is over but there are still some nice cottages in the area. It has a car park and toilets and is easily reached by walking over the railway track... More

Boomer is a great place to visit with plenty of parking right above the beach. Here you will enjoy body surfing, body boarding and, when the surf is running, some great surfing. Please always keep your dogs on leads between 10 and 6 as this respects other users. A little closer to Victor Harbor the endangered hooded plovers live and... More

We rented a house 3 mins walk from this beach and it was fabulous! We took our labrador and the beach was off-leash before 10am and after 6pm. To be honest the hours in between we also pretty relaxed and the beach was not busy so plenty of exercise for the dog. Popular witb other dog walkers. The waves were good... More

From the car park the beach and water looked quite inviting, however when we ventured into the water there was quite a strong undercurrent. Be wary particularly if you have small children or elderly companions

This beach is a must for surfers on the southern coastline. Very popular with local surfing guys and well known abroad. The beach has plenty of sand but does get clogged at times with seaweed washed up. OK for families but be careful with children with the surf and under currents. Spring and early summer is one of the best... More

Love Port Elliot! One of the many beautiful beaches in the area popular with surfers and bodyboarders. The long sandy beach is great for leisurely walks and is especially beautiful at sunset.
