We stayed in town just one night and just loved the architecture of this church. It's so easy to do your own research on the background of towns and individual buildings these days that a tour isn't necessary. Happily strolled around admiring the masonry work and of this gorgeous church. Next time we plan to go to the area I... More

When our tour bus stopped at Strathalbyn, I left the group and headed across The Children's Park to see St. Andrew's Uniting Church. I was disappointed as it was closed all I saw was the outside of the church.

A lovely old Presbyterian Church which was taken over by the Uniting Church when the churches amalgamated. A great venue for good music which is brought to the area a few times a year. Choirs. harpist and celtic singer, orchestra, all wonderful.

If you enjoy visiting museums and cathedrals then St Andrews Uniting Church should be on your list. We attended a Music Fest here and really appreciated seeing this historical church and hearing from a local all about it's past.

Thank goodness for the guy who invented cameras, because although I can't paint, I can certainly take a photo and St Andrew's would have to be one of the prettiest churches I've seen. It is another good reason to put Strathalbyn on your itinerary.

This is a charming Church, located adjacent to the river park in the center of town. It's worth a visit to admire the old building when you're in the area.

This 1840's, recently restored church made of some kind of golden stone is the visual peak of a park vista. Blink and you'd think you were in England (tho the raucous cockatoos quickly dispel this idea). If you've time, worth the short stroll over the picturesque bridge. Not open when we were there, but a lovely, musical bell.

Built in the 1840s, this old church is in a lovely setting near the Angus River. The congregation have been conducting a major renovation and they have done a very good job of it. We were luck to be taken into the old tower and up to see the clock workings too.

This church is not to be confused with the other and more famous and more visited church of the same name in Glenelg, a suburb of Adelaide. This church is in Strathalbyn, a small and picturesque town in a river vally about 60 km from Adelaide. The drive to Strathalbyn is very enjoyable and the church is the main attraction... More
