Listen for the sound
Feb. 2021
It was quiet and windy when we turned up, but that was all the better for hearing the blowhole sing out, and we could work out more or less where the sound was coming from too. All part of an excellent little drive around the Cape road.

Wild Coast
Jan. 2021
This spot is worth the stop and short boardwalk, aim for near high tide and westerly winds. The blow hole was active and the wild seas really turning it on. Unfortunately the Cliffs were not whisteling

What A Blow
Jan. 2021 • Couples
Went here and very surprised how well the place was looked after. We did not see the blow holes in operation as the tide was out, but it was still beautiful and the scenery magic. Road could be signposted better however there are toilets by the car park and the boardwalk is easy walking. Check tides before you go.

Worth taking the time

Little bit of a walk from the carpark however it's along a good boardwalk with easy steps on part of it. They say visit on high tide with onshore winds but we just arrived and it was really blowing off to maybe we flukes the right conditions. All in all very well with seeing

Loud and Damp!
Nov. 2020
South of Streaky Bay there is a 38 km loop dirt road called the Cape Bauer Loop. The main attractions on this road are the Whistling Rocks and Blow Holes, seen together from a well signposted parking area. There is a long board walk with many steps down to see the sights. The features are the result of the surging sea forcing air and water through vertical crevices in the limestone. High tide is the best time to visit, but on the day of our visit the blow holes were resting! However, the Whistling Rocks were spectacular. In fact, there is not a great deal to see, apart from the surging ocean. But the sound is like an immense locomotive expelling steam under pressure - a great roar. It can also be quite dampening!

A must see
Oct. 2020 • Couples
Visit this place at high tide or as the tide is coming in. The whistling rocks are eerie but very cool to hear it echoing the waves crashing against the cliff below. While we didn’t get to see much of the blowhole “blow”, the scenery was well worth it. There are quite a few steps to the lookouts but it is along a boardwalk.

Magnificent

This is a beautiful spot. 3 different viewing platforms to take in the magnificent rocky coast. Spotted pod of dolphins in the surf. Good spot to take nice photos.

Great drive
Oct. 2020
Easy ramp/steps to get down and up, we had to wait for the blowhole and sadly the winds weren't strong enough for the rocks to whistle, still loved being there and saw lots of lizards

Raw Ocean
Sep. 2020 • Couples
The power of the ocean meets the land, the large waves crash and they are spectacular. A hidden gem in South Australia. Spent an hour just taking it all in. Very large sand dunes everywhere.
