- deb51755Belvidere, Illinois2 contributionsNever to old to love Rock and RollThis was my 4th trip the RRHF. I would recommend it to anyone that loves the history of different genres of music. They continually update the exhibits, so going back is always a new adventure. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food there was amazing too. A very pleasant surprise.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten November 1, 2023

So much to see, it was far better than expected. The food was really good too. Well worth the visitVisited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten November 17, 2023
- Lisa BMissouri28 contributionsFamily visitExcited to check this off my bucket list! Wish the place was not so confusing. The way everything is displayed makes no sense. Cases of different artists memorabilia just crammed together with no order to it. Would really liked to see it start with the first inducted class plaques & their memorabilia right next their plaque & continue on like that with all the rest of the years. We enjoyed all the displays & history, just wish it was in some type of order that celebrated the artist accomplishments. Loved the floor with all the instruments. The garage band area is so cool, some very talented people there the day we visited.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten December 28, 2023
- tracbertReno, Nevada96 contributionsSo much to see! This museum was too much to absorb in the 2 hours we had time for. We should have planned way more time. This is a great place to relive your past and learn about music and artists you may not have known about. Great collection, movies and broadcasts. We loved it, it was worth the money.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten January 22, 2024
- William VBrookville, Pennsylvania86 contributionsDefinitely worth seeingIt has been 5 to 6 years since we visited here. I was not able to enter the actual date. We went as everyone should see this place. There are personal items from many rock icons both past and present. Things like Bob Marley's hat, John Lennon's organ, Elton John's jump suit and many, many more things. It is on a number of different levels. I found the set up a bit confusing, and happy Hazzard. It appeared that things were not put in cases by group but just sort of put in the cases in any old way. It would have been, at least in my opinion, a better experience, for example, if they put all the Beatles items together and all Elton John items together. It just appeared a bit jumbled. This is only my opinion and take it for what it is worth. Our kids were a bit younger then and were bored until they got to the "what makes music" room. Here they got to play drums, keyboards, guitar etc. this, they thought was great. We were happy they had fun.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten February 11, 2024
- pat123Kent, Washington15 contributionsVisit the place!Worth a visit. the name says it all. If you're even a sorta sometime fan, it's worthwhile if you're in the area. Architecture in unique, lots of stairs, but fun. Acoustics are good, places to sit and listen and rest, short films, historic doodads, etc. Very well done.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten February 13, 2024
- Charles GBuffalo, New York4 contributionsIt’s not only Rock and Roll. The RRHF has a bit of something for everyone, which I see as something of a fault. There are exhibits of Country, Gospel, Pop, Rap/Hip Hop, Folk, Artists. Fine if you are in the Cleveland Music Hall of Fame, but I’ll bet close to half the content is not strictly’R&R’. Disappointing . On the flip side ( lol), the R&R material itself is very interesting, sometimes jaw-dropping. Let’s hope they refine their focus in their new, upcoming, expansion.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten February 23, 2024
- LeePulaski_Va_Pulaski, Virginia278 contributionsThe history is great.I am primarily interested in the history and origin of rock and roll. I therefore loved all the exhibits of the legends: Elvis, Chuck Berry, the Killer, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and, of course, the Beatles. I spent a long time listening to the hits from the various decades. I had less interest in the clothes and memorabilia. I found the upper floors less interesting but still worthwhile. I spent a small fortune in the gift shop, but it was worth it. My only complaint is the skimpy Grateful Dead section. I know not everyone loves the Dead, but that band deserves more recognition.Visited March 2024Travelled soloWritten March 29, 2024
- DL2SomeDetroit Lakes, Minnesota872 contributionsWonderful Memories of Our Youth! We went while attending the Women's Final Four and were a bit overwhelmed by the crowds - there were also hordes of people in Cleveland for the solar eclipse so a bit of a double whammy. The museum is well worth the visit and we really appreciated the area that focused on each of the cities - Memphis, Detroit, Liverpool etc. that gave birth to rock and roll. I had forgotten how the religious community had portrayed rock and roll as the downfall of morality. This is so funny in retrospect! The special presentation on Elvis is worth the watch and provides a time to sit when a bit of rest is needed. Having been born in the late 40's we were able to reminisce a lot. One drawback was that we were unable to use the "free internet" so we couldn't access information that would have enhanced our experience. At the same time staff were very helpful in answering questions and providing directions.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten May 2, 2024
- Nate080411Nashua, New Hampshire1,025 contributionsA clear must do in ClevelandThere are many reasons to come here for a visit, but certainly you can't miss it when you are in the area. It is nicely perched on the water so you can make a nice walk before or after visiting. It does get busy so you do have to be prepared to manage some of the crowds. There is so much to see here and depending on how much reading (or listening) you want to do, then you could easily spend a half day or more here. When we went they had a great exhibition on celebrating 50 years of Rap which was very interesting. You really do need to make your reservation ahead of time and plan your day around the trip. You are bound to see all of your favorites as well as miss so much because there is just so much displayed. Overall, I would be back again in a bit after their next switch of exhibits.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten May 24, 2024

Some constructing of new exhibits going on. Lots of roped off areas due to covid, like the Garage to play instruments and the theatres. Food pricey, but good. We each bought a solo membership in February 2020 just before Countrywide lockdown. We were so excited.Well the Rock Hall also closed for about a month around Christmas. I asked them if they would extend my Families memberships a month longer to make up for the lost time, and they said no. Because they consider it a donation. So think twice before you buy a membership.

So cool to see the artifacts of music history. It ranges from classic blues to rock to rap. Original notes from artists in their handwriting.
The only downside was the outrageous ticket and food prices. $9 for a kid's cheese quesadilla, couldn't even add onions and peppers because it came premade.

I went here somewhat reluctantly due to previous comments from friends that had been there years ago. My wife and I took our 19 year old son (who was the one who wanted to go most of all) on a Tuesday morning. We happened to get there right after they had just unveiled the new Woodstock stage exhibit. Pretty cool.
The Play It Loud exhibit is worth the price of admission alone. So many iconic pieces of rock history on display, including guitars from my favorite guitarist Eddie Van Halen.
As a footnote, most of the items on display are behind plexiglass but it is so clear you almost feel like you can touch the item on display and it allows for great pictures.

I think with all of the restrictions due to the COVID 19 situation that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame staff are doing a great job.
Access was limited and we had a quick health screening before entering but the staff was great helping guide us where to go. Again given the circumstances I thought everyone was professional and courteous.
The Hall of Fame is an awesome experience and we highly recommend it.

From the architecture of the building by I.M. Pei (did the glass pyramid at the Louvre as well) to the displays, this is a must see on your next stop in Cleveland.
If you live in NEO, take a day and go.
I was back visiting the area and my buddy had not been, so he took the day off work and came with me.
The exhibits are phenomenal, If you just go to see and not read, you can get through in about 2 hours or so. I stopped and read most of the provenance about the exhibits, and it took about 4 hours to hit the main level.
The gift shop is huge. This is one of the places if you visit that it is worth getting a souvenir from. It is an attraction and items are prices accordingly.
I grabbed a 1/4 lb hot dog on a toasted bun from a food truck parked out front (always there ) for $6

We purchased our tickets online and went to The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame when it opened on a Monday morning. We did the lower floor first. There were lots of stage costumes, guitars, recordings and photos as well as printed information about the performers. At 11:30 we went up to the snack bar ahead of the lunch crowd. In the afternoon we went to the upper floors and took in all of the exhibits and a very loud filmed musical presentation in a theater. All in all everything was very interesting especially since we remembered seeing most of the people in the Hall Of Fame on television or even a few of them in person. The only downside was the huge crowd and difficulty getting close to some of the exhibits.

HOF itself was great. Some areas "not open due to COVID", but we were in line elbow to elbow and then once inside, there were 30 people crammed in like cattle. It did not seem there were any actual measures taken to ensure social distancing. People took their masks off once inside and were within a foot of others. I didn't see any staff around to assist. The gift shop was, of course, open. The displays, artifacts and general experience was great though.

First, I want to compliment the staff and security. They were helpful, friendly and accommodating. Security helped us unload and load a mobility scooter from our car, gave us a tip for parking(street parking is closest). Change machines for meter inside the front door of museum. In my opinion the museum layout is odd. You enter, then have to go to the lower level for purchase of tickets and this level is the entry to the exhibits. You are not given a floor map, so we never knew exactly where we were. A floor map of each floor would have greatly enhanced our visit.
We visited on a Monday and no crowds at all.
We were particularly interested in the early years of Rock and Roll and were disappointed with the small amount of attention to that era. If you like The Beatles forward, you will find lots to see.
Over all a fun day. Congratulations to this Cleveland facility for their friendly, knowledgeable staff.

My husband and I cannot say enough great things about this place. What an experience! We arrived early, stayed late and enjoyed every minute. Lots to see and do so don’t rush through it. Savor every moment and enjoy. Wonderful place for any age but younger children may be a bit bored with anything that’s not interactive; they aren’t old enough to truly appreciate rock and roll’s past history. Prices are a little high but discounts can be gotten if you seek them out before you go. Parking can be found at meters on the street but my husband and I got tired of looking so we opted to park at a science center lot next door. If you get your parking ticket validated at the HOF you get a $2.00 parking discount. Long live rock and roll!

I hate being a negative nelly, but my 3 star rating for the price is being generous. I thought it was expensive for what it offered. It does cover a fairly broad range of material and artists, but I thought it could have.....been a bit better somehow. Maybe more artifacts, less reading..? I never felt the Smithsonians were too much reading, it’s hard to put my finger on it.
I think maybe to someone from 50-70 in age there would have been less that was unfamiliar, maybe more of a nostalgic effect. There was a John Mellencamp exhibit at the time I went which was well done. My favorite band is REO Speedwagon and I am a lover of Orbison and Elvis(the Elvis portion at the beginning was probably my favorite part!) so it’s not that I’m all about the current music scene and couldn’t relate to the content. I’m actually pretty behind the times overall.
I just wish it was a little cheaper for what it had. This was Aug 2017. It was a modern facility, by all means. But I’m sure the price has gone up since that time. Has it added anything since? If not , I would be hard pressed to pay it again. $15 wouldn’t make me think about it as much. If money is no issue however, you might as well go if you are in Cleveland and have no time constraints either.
I got lucky with the parking relatively close. Go early.

I paid $8. It's paid at a kiosk. You pay for the amount of time you wish to be there. Don't go over that time, though. I've read that they will charge around $16 if you exceed the amount you paid for. So, to be safe, figure how long you intend to be parked there, and go over it by a half hour.

YES, there are reasonably priced paid parking lots across the street. There is also limited metered street parking for short visits

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Cleveland Clinic. It’s a nice place. There’s a pool, a bar and a restaurant right in the hotel. It was about a 10 or 15 minute drive away from the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame. If you buy your tickets for the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame online, if you scroll around, you will see that they have package deals. That’s how we came to be at that hotel. Booking that hotel came with passes for the hall. Look around the hall website and you’ll see. It’ll definitely save you some money
