As a tourist destination, The Lake View Cemetery offers a variety of walking, bus, and self-guided tours. Among the tour topics are geology, architecture, horticulture, nature, animals, and history. This cemetery is just gorgeous, filled with beautiful plants and memorials . We walked around for more than 2 hours and could have spent more time. Gorgeous mosaics and stained glass in the chapel, and the docent was very knowledgable.

We were driven through the cemetery by a guide who told the story behind some of the interesting gravesites here. Once outside the city, it is now easily reached on a city tour.

Not as many famous people here, but some interesting grave sites and headstones. My husband especially liked Roy Chapman's baseball themed headstone. The Wade Chapel is beautiful. Worth an hour or so while seeing President Garfield's memorial/mausoleum.

One of the best views of the city is atop the Garfield Memorial. You can see for miles. The cemetery itself is so big it goes through three cites. Not only are billionaires buried there, but they're buried amongst presidents and lawyers like Elliot Ness....More

This place is full of history with all the beautify Tiffany mausoleums. If you are lucky enough to be able to get inside Wade Chapel...it will not disappoint! The history alone is worth the trip.

Wade and Garfield memorial are open daylight hours. Stop at the office at 123rd and Euclid gate for map, guidance and full info. All is free. Picnic tables are scattered throughout the cemetery. Nice locations are near the... More
