The Wilds is an amazing conservation project built on reclaimed strip mined land donated by American Electric Power Ohio. It's the closest you will come to an African Safari in America's heartland. They have successfully bred rare & endangered animals such as white & black rhinos & others. You can choose from an enclosed bus or an open air safari... More

We shared our experience with friends from Indianapolis and really enjoyed the relaxing tour and various sights. We looked into staying the night in the Yurts-but could not this visit. Most animals were visible and in a natural looking habitat.

We spent a night staying at the Yurts at The Wilds and did both a regular open air tour and a "behind the scenes tour". Both were excellent, we saw a lot of animals and the guides were knowledgeable and interested in the animals. The Yurts were warm and comfortable.

Took the open air safari tour as a birthday present to myself. Don was the tour guide and was really friendly and seemed to enjoy his job. Enjoyed seeing the giraffe, learning about the Przewalski's wild horses, admiring the rhinos and finding a greater love for the grevy's zebra.

As a former member of the Columbus Zoo I can't believe I had never driven an hour outside of town to The Wilds. What an amazing animal and nature preserve. I went with a small group of friends on Wednesday afternoon. There were 12 people on our tour and it was so much fun driving around the countryside and experiencing... More

We were on a girls weekend in the area and looking for something to do. We are so happy we chose zip lining at The Wilds. There were 9 stations and the views were unbelievable. The trees were in all their fall glory. We did get to see several types of animals from above. Our guides, Chris and Sadie, were... More

I made reservations the day before and got 50% off my tour for being a Columbus Zoo member. It took me 1 hr and 40mins from south Columbus. After you get off of the freeway, the roads are slow and crooked. You park at a lot that is located right off of the road. Parking is $6. A shuttle takes... More

We chose the Safari Transport and were able to see many animals up close. The ostriches pecked at our windows! Trip takes a little over 2 hours with a stop to see the cheetahs at the carnivore center.

Let me begin by saying I am not fond of heights but I promised my wife I would Zip line with her at the "Wilds" after I passed on the experience the last time we were there. I also have problems with my shoulder but that turned out to not be a factor at all. It was an amazing experience!!!!!... More

Wow. What a place. We took the closed bus tour. We will for sure take the open air bus next time. Can't wait till the grandkids are big enough to go.
