We had this place on our list but had no idea what to expect. The place is a church. I first thought oh they purchased the church. No, they had it built to be the winery. It's amazing inside. The wine was very good on everything that we tried. We got some wine and took it outside and drank on... More

Love the idea of using an old church as being a winery. Old materials, original wood flooring, stained glass windows all add to the atmosphere of this winery inside an old church building with a GREAT STORY behind it. Immediately I was offered my tastings which lead me to purchsing the Karma and the Semillon. Remeber to take aphotgraph as... More

Enjoyed a bottle of their reisling. Dry and fruity which was perfect to join the picnic dinner we brought. Nice views over the vines of the sunset. Not too crowded on the patio which was an added plus on a Friday night.

We have been to South River, 4 times. The first time, there was a Church and not much else that had been converted to a Wine tasting room. Since then, they have built on a back patio, an extended raised patio and a barbeque area. The food isn't fine dining but is good. The wines range from Dry to Sweet... More

We always make it a point to stop at South River Vineyard when we tour NE Ohio wine country. The view from the wonderfully designed patio, alone, is worth the trip. I'm no expert, but the red wine I had was good. My wife had Chardonnay. She like it, as well. We had the cheese and crackers platter. The woman... More

The winery is one of the prettier places to visit. Very unique building which is a renovated church, The outdoor patios they added are beautiful and the huge fireplace is great. The wines are on the sweeter side and we like ours dry.

Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the beautiful view on the patio. Skip the wine and bring some water to re-hydrate before heading down the road for better wine. The view is breathtaking!

I like this setting so much. I believe they have the best patios of all the wineries in the area. The staff friendliness and lack of any real menu brings it down one star for me. You are allowed to bring your own food though.

This beautiful winery is housed in a chapel that is over 100 years old. It originally sat in a different location and was taken apart piece by piece and was moved and reconstructed in Ohio wine country. The chapel is beautiful and you can sip wine while sitting in a pew in the chapel. We chose to sit outside on... More

We visited on a weekday afternoon (Thursday). We took our own snacks and relaxed with some great white. We bought a bottle of red (Pinot Noir) and a bottle of white (Pinot Grigio) and they were both very good. The atmosphere was stunning. The winery is located in an old victorian chapel that was dismanteled and reassembled. It is very... More
